  • My MX63 build/ideas list

    My car

    Plans for the rear end

And I am working on getting and installing a Datsun 720 pickup front bumper to replace the stock park bench
Some of the wheel styles I am looking at
    Rota Aleica 15x9 -15

    Rota Shakotan 15x9 -15

Basset Racing wheels in either 15x9's or 10's with custom offset

Feel free to throw out some other ideas!
Suspension will include a weld on set of front coilovers, out back I will be running circle track springs and adjustable KYB struts. I am going to be swapping in a W58 5 speed and a stock LSD from a Celica Supra. I will be dropping a fixed back race sear in place of the stock drivers Lay-Z-Boy. I need to start working on the exhaust as I plan to tuck the muffler a good way upstream so that it can't be seen and then run two 3" pipes from the muffler back. I will be fabbing a rear duckbill spoiler and buying a front duckbill from a member on here. Hopefully I will have some progress pics here soon as driving this thing in stock form is not the coolest thing ever.

Well thanks to the previous owner not keeping power steering fluid in the car I now need to buy a new PS pump...glad that I am going to do a junk yard run soon, it also gives me a chance to find and fix the leak in the PS system. On a happier note, I have all of my suspension stuff found and ready to order as soon as I get money, its looking like I will have front and rear ride height adjustment which will be nice. Found the shocks that I want for a really good deal with upgraded bushings in them so I will not have to press any bushings in or out thank god. Still hunting for wheels, so little money and so many awesome wheels....

If those wheels are something you're looking for, then go for it. But I think you could find something cool and period correct if you scour craigslist/ebay or forums.
You have an awesome platform, it'd be a shame to see it on some reps.

        Just my two cents.

I'd find a japanese exporter who speaks english. Sometimes that can be expensive but the selection of wheels with the specs you could possibly want is definitely greater over there.

After many hours of looking around the interwebz and talking to some car guy friends I have decided to go with a set of banded steelies until I can afford to get the wheels I want and the car deserves. I will be going with 15x10.5 -6 offset all the way around with 225/50/15's which are the closest to the stock tire height that I can get with out going to 16's. I know that there will be a good amount of fender work required to get the wheels to fit which will end up being good as it will add some visual aggression to the car which it desperately needs, I may even go with a set of modified ZG flares. I got the start of my exhaust and I will start working on that either this weekend or next. Taxes have been filed and I will be about 3k richer here at the start of February so I will be doing a big parts order then. Rabid Chimp and T3 will be supplying all of suspension parts other than the rear spring and rear height adjusters so the car should be pretty dialed in. Other than that I have been cleaning up the extra stock parts that I got with the car to sell to help fund more parts, like my steering wheel and drivers seat.

Got a job in the mobile department at Best Buy today so there will be some more money to drop into the car! Looks like I will be doing a big parts order here in about 2 weeks. Most of the 5 speed swap parts have been sourced as well as a few options for limited slip diffs.

The Cressida here was commonly known as the Cretsa/Mark II/Chaser overseas... Mostly the same car with different trim levels and varying parts. You may be able to source something and have it sent over. Check YAJ and then go through a broker.

Thanks for the info man! I will start looking around, there are some more pressing issues on the car but I doubt that I could get those skirts "overnighted from Japan"

You could... but it would be ridiculously expensive. Just lurk YAJ every few days and Im sure you can find something cool.

Honestly I have no problem with knock off wheels on cars. That being said some of the "real" wheels come In better designs. Also I would avoid the diamond steelies as I've heard they aren't hub centric and can't be balanced so they ride horrible ( just as a heads up ). Looking forward to what you do with it tho, these cars are awesome
