So I came to the realisation that as of last weekend I have owned this car for two years and got pretty much no where with it but progress is starting to happen a bit more frequently now. The last 6 months have been crazy for me personally but the good news is I now have a bit more spare cash to spend on it, yay! So much so I ended up with 4 cars.

Since then I have sold the e46 and now use the 323 sedan as a daily. I picked up this very tidy 328 touring with a busted auto so out that came, thanks to my brother and the hoist at his work. Since I planned on doing a manual conversion on Monty, I need to find a use for the auto that is in it at the moment so it will go into Touring 2.0 and be used it as a daily

Also got hold of a staggered set of Throwing Stars

I'm think about polishing the lips, painting the covers a dark grey and putting them on the silver touring.

All of this has provided more motivation to get cracking on Monty so here how it sits as of today, prep'ed for gearbox removal hopefully next weekend.

Recent purchases for it include a manual conversion kit from an m3 and a cat back zorst also from an m3. Once that is done, stage one will be complete and start saving for the next stage.

Cheers dude. I do regret not stumping up the extra cash for 225/35. In New Zealand, Falken is the only tyre that we can stretch legally and it was about $120 extra per tyre for the 35 profile.

They were made by Nicole??? Same as this guy here

I need to get some stiffer rear springs as the guard hits the rim lip when pulling into work.

Took a couple of photos on the way home the other night with the sun setting in the nor'west arch. I still don't know what I am doing with the camera so a lot came out rubbish but these are probably the best of the worst.

I now have my garage back so have given it a good clean on the outside and have started on the leather. Might have to give it a splash of colour as what I thought might have been dirt, is just worn.

Jealous of the wagon and the wheels.

Wee update for you all - I put a call out on one of the local forums here in New Zealand for some wheels and one of the local guys let me know he was thinking about letting his Hartge wheels go so he could get married. From the moment I saw them, I knew I had to have them.

Cash was exchanged, tears were shed, and then they were in the back of the car on the way to my place.

First thing was to strip the monster truck tyres off them and fit something smaller. Yep, 235/70/18??

A few tweaks and had the front sort out really quickly for a local meet.

Since then I've balance out the height so its even on both sides, give or take a mm, so now I'm happy with the height (I think). It's ready for a cert now so will organise that in next week so. Pics you say?

The ground isn't very flat outside which doesn't quite do the height justice. After the cert the wheels will come off for a refurb. I've located some centre caps as well but they are not genuine, just some that have been machined up

What is peoples opinion on 215/45 vs 215/40/17? Factory tyres are 225/50/16 so 215/45/17 are perfect match for the speedo but 40 series should give me more clearance.

Update: Finally some lows! But terrible photos. The lens on the camera needs a clean but didn't realise until I load them onto the computer

Put the coilovers in last weekend and it turned into a bit of a nightmare. 5 of the 6 strut nuts had been stripped so that was fun. Ended up with my brother pulling the struts from below and using the rattle gun to effectively yanking them off. No photos of the installation sorry. Managed to pick up some M3 mirrors in the same color so put those on.

Also test fitted the ACS reps I'm selling for a laugh. After seeing them on I might keep them. Haven't got a wheel alignment done as I might go lower in the front but if the rears are anything to go by, a small roll and 215/40 tyres might work.

Yep the guard is rest on the tyre haha
