  • Alex's Mz2, and Garage Build Thread! Righteous.

Stanceworks my friends, how's it going? Well, since I've made a build thread on Mazdas247, I figured that it would be more than appreciated here, if I were to post it. So, I'm gonna Copy/Paste it here, so bare with me. I'll add my own piece at the end for you S/W peeps:

Hey everyone! So I'm finally deciding to make a build thread. A lot of people have approached me, virtually (On M247), about stuff I've done to my car. While I have no problem responding to anyone who asks questions, now everything I do will be in one place. Plus now, I can document everything I've done, and plan on doing to my car.

Here is a current mod list on my car (taken from my MOTM entry):

    Performance Mods:
    - CorkSport SRI
    - Custom Intake Duct (Stock Cut)
    - Custom "CRG" Intake Heatshield
    - Custom 2.25" Stainless Steel Exhaust, Header Back, No cats, 2 Resonators
    - KSport Kontrol Coils, Set up to my low likings.
    - CorkSport Rear Torsion Bar
    - AWR 95a Lower DogBone mount

    Exterior Mods:
    - VHT NightShade Red-Out Tails
    - Home Depot Special Front Lip
    - 15x7 +36 ASA 5 Spokes, Painted Black
    - 205/50/15 Falken Azenis RT-615's, Painted sidewall lettering
    - Dealer Installed GS/Touring pkg. Rear spoiler, and Fog's
    - Sylvania Fog lights
    - Relocated plate to mesh
    - CF look, shorty Antenna
    - Ebay Window Rain Visors

    Interior Mods:
    - Wink 980 mm Rear View Mirror
    - Red LED dome light
    - Shifter extension, an Array of different knobs for my mood at the time
    - Rear Seat Delete
    - Upgraded Alum. Pedals from Dealer

    Stereo Mods:
    - Stock, with Sub not hooked up in the back. For that little bit more bump until it gets installed

Plans for 2013, as long as funding works out:

    - 6" front, 550 lbs/in coilover springs, and 5.5" 750 lbs/in rear coilover springs.
    - 15x9 +36 TR Motorsport C3M
    - 195/50/15 R-Comps. Thinking Toyo R888's
    - Header
    - CS Short Shift plate
    - CS Front sway bar
    - Possibly may sell my CS Torsion bar with the stiffness of the rear spring setup
    - Nardi Woodgrain steering wheel, light woodgrain with black spokes, or Sparco R333
    - Re-paint my tail lights.. I rushed them the first time
    - Corbeau FX-1 Pro driver seat
    - Re-Carpet the whole rear end/cover up all exposed metal in the trunk area
    - Hawk HP-Plus brake pads, stainless steel lines.. already have new rotors.
    - Install Sub and amp
    - Other custom and personal Interior mods
    - Replace axle that I'm pretty sure is going
    - Raise engine around an inch (hopefully)

Now, at the end of the day, I'm modding and driving the car for me. Honestly, I'm addicted to driving ridiculously low. It's just so ridiculous, it's awesome. I love seeing sparks fly when I've bottomed out at night :P. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Call me a hardparker, call me an idiot.. doesn't matter to me.. hell you may be right, but I drive the shit out of my car, when needed, and have racing experience to back it up . Anyway, this thread will most likely be a slow one, I don't have a massive amount of funds right now, but I'm sick, I'm bored, had a shitty B-Day so I figured this will cheer me up a little.. wheewww for being 20!

Pics of how the car ended up looking in 2012:

And a pic of the work/chill place. Right now, it's in Winter mode/Chill spot. I've re-done the garage a bit since this pic, it's cleaner, and insulated .

    Jan 9th:

Got an oil change done today! Got a gift card from one of my friends to Crappy Tire (Canadian Tire for all you Murrican's), so bought me some oil! Also made a trip to my local Mazda dealer, and had a nice chat with the dudes there. Apparently my car is more talked about around my area, than I had previously thought :$. That was pretty cool to hear! I'm always shocked by that

What's a build thread without pics.. everyone likes pics:

That's it for now everyone. I got some big plans for this car, that's not even on my "list".. I may change my mind, I may not stick to the list, you'll all just have to see! Although, complete honesty, at the very minimum for this year, I want/need to have my suspension/wheel set up done.

Also, I got some other idea's that are fresh for my car, and personal and unique. I honestly can't wait to get around to doing everything I want to get done on this car. This car won't be putting down huge power numbers, no crazy engine swaps in this (that'll be for my project car when I get one ), just something I can enjoy the shit out of building, and driving on the daily. Plus, my garage is gonna be getting pimped out too.. can't have one pimped without the other!

Looking forward to chatting with you all, about my car, your car, my garage, your garage, music, the philosophical debate on life, and all it's bringings.. whatever you guys want!

    Peace and love my homies.
    -Alex

Since everyone likes pics, here's a progression, of sorts, to the ride height I'm at today, through 2012:

Alright.. finally got a bit of an update here. Weather here sucks, and makes me not wanna do any work to my car, unless of course, there's a snow storm passing through, then I'll take apart my headlights and re-do them.

This was halfway through.. I was stressing out like a motherfuck. Broke a tab on my healight, but sealed her up GOOD.

Mississauga-20130208-00402 by Alexander D.24, on Flickr

Pic was after it stopped snowing, 30 mins before. Had to clear off the driveway/my car to run to the convenience store to get a pack of smokes. Look closely at my driveway, you'll see that I just swept off the top layer of snow when I backed in

Mississauga-20130209-00407 by Alexander D.24, on Flickr

All done, the next day. Took out my orange reflector (refer to sig pic), and painted the silver reflector, underneath the orange one, black.

Mississauga-20130210-00408 by Alexander D.24, on Flickr

I also talked to my buddy Z at Boost Theory (awesome guy, and can build the shit out of a car), seems like it's a wheel bearing that's going in my car.. not an axle like I thought. Saving up commences....
