  • Pull up in a 96 Whoopty Whammy(Volvo 855 T5 5SPD)

Soo I haven't been on here for a long time doubt anyone remembers me but i am on to a new estate i've gone through a car and acquired a shop

I use to have this wagon turbo autotragic.

then i had this for awhile.

but that her life was cut short and saved mine.

I pulled the motor along with other things

I seem to think alittle different my friend says " now we need an engine hoist" and i replied "Give me a minute i'll be right back.

And now that that was out of the way it was time for afew cooled ones and some wheelies lol

I started work on the motor changing gaskets, seals and throttle bodies.

the factory is like 2 1/4" so i got a 960 throttle body that is 3" and a Na s70 manifold i took a grinder to the manifold just cleaning up marks from casting then sand blasted and painted it.

I decided to go with a black and white for my engine bay dont ask why i was an idiot (facepalm).

and then came the shell I had been eyeing it for a while my buddy had it sitting there T5 5spd its just needed a motor and well thats all i had lol.

abit of a rare interior never seen it before half leather/ half cloth.

Away working for awhile it sucks i get the car to my shop and get sent away for work my luck.

as you can see the car was painted before i got it red to green what a choice lol i'm painting it anyways so i'm not worried.

and she's out in little time at all

You its a mess lol i quick moved abunch of stuff so i could put her in the corner as she wasn't going anywhere soon.

Dont know if you got a good look before but ya this is what i got to work with now.

I started removing stuff and getting rid of stuff i didnt need.

Today a got a coupler i had been waiting on so i went out and picked up a belt now that i don't have a/c the size is 46.3"

started getting rid of some wiring and cleaning it up

there will be lots more to come i just kinda wanted to get this thread started up

and thats me the man behind the madness

Dude I love old volvos, especially wagons. Can't wait to see what's in store, I was interested in picking one of these up a while ago. I hear you can make really good power on those stock volvo 5 cyl motors with not a whole lot of work. Subscribed!

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

Thanks guys ya a set of coilovers and some bbs's is the plan..

So i got around to putting up afew more pics i'm kind of new to this so i'll do abunch of work and then go ohh ish i should have taken pics. :P

just some crap pulled from the car

took off the plastic casing, cleaned up and got alittle length out of this side.

i'm just gunna run the factory intercooler for awhile now that it isnt sandwhiched in between the rad and a/c. I cleaned it up and fixed so many fins

i do alot of back a forth work. I'll go from the engine bay to interior to motor then over to painting. drives people crazy but i get more done because of it so heres some interior lol

More photos of the bay i spend so much time on it. if you didnt knw how an 850 engine bay looks you would think i havent done anything.

And then the painting got started I'd like to give a big thank you to DNB and ragga jungle for helping me stay up on those late nights.

And then it was time for alittle external painting i chose Matte green cause i've never seen an 850 that color and its always been my fave lol Thats my 5 dollar lip of a volvo 960

the hood will later be boser blicked

i through her together for now looks good

i took two teaser pics too

i'm open to any tips on making this alittle more up beat.

Very cool little build. I like that you're taking your time to do the harnesses and paint everything nicely, this will be cool when it's done.

The only thing that I can't say I care for is the hood mod you started for the headlights. The last picture made me

fun fact, that lip fits on e34s with mild trimming and looks boss-sauce.

Thanks guys ya i wanted to do this just to show that there is a hand full of Volvo guys that actually put in work. i was sick of going to Volvo meets to see every car look alike, the same rims and same engine mods. Seeing as i hang out with alot of different car guys i always liked to see what they were up to.

Okoye you are correct i got this 960 lip when i had my other car for 5 bucks i've seen people pay close to 50 for them.

i've been in to Volvo's since the 12th grade when i had to sell my bike this is my 4th 850 now so you could say i have a thing for them its mostly cause of the 5 cylinder i've always loved the sound by far my favorite engine.

ya I'm acquiring D2 racing coil overs ( not alot of coilover companies for the 850's, I have heard that s4 coils fit with a loving hand). I'm also going to get adaptors and a nice set of BBS's just because i'm sick of the 5x108 bolt pattern limits your selection a great deal. most likely going to get racing seats I'm thinking about getting a hub adaptor and quick release just cause i really wanna get a wood wheel lol

You could also go for BC coilovers for the 850
They are a tat cheaper, and go low as well, so far I'm informed

Goodluck with the car, I plan on building one when I've got enough moneys
Mine will be a nice high revving NA lump with some ITB's

Goodluck with the rest of the build, I'll be following this closely
If shit can happen, shit's bound to happen.
