  • e28 - Basically say hi first

    Hi everyone,

My name is Junior from the Netherlands. Bought a 1982 e28 520i last month. It had some engine problems when I bought it, and just a little rust at the right end. After changing several parts the engine seems to be fine now. The rust haven't been fixed, but I'll keep working on it.

Before my e28 i've been driving (almost) only BMW. Mostly e39; last one was a 528i executive from 2000. Loved it, but since i've bought a house with a garage to it, I will try to create a slammed e28.

    This is how it's now:

Bought a set of 16inch rims. Aluline. There pretty wasted because of driving winters with it (the government in holland surely knows what "salt abuse" is). So i'm currently working on getting them in better shape. Fitted one to see what it would look like:

Will get it lowered in a couple of weeks. Fix the rust and get it painted. This last thing will take some more time. No quick build!

Suggestions and ideas are welcome. Thanks for reading.

yes thats a really good question. As I asked this same question to the e28 fanatics in Holland; it appears to be an original e28 spoiler. One which would've been more expensive then the original M one. I really didn't like it at first, but I getting used to it.

I'll do some more research. Get back to it.

Looks to me like a B7 Turbo rear spoiler. Do you have any better picures of it?

Edit: Did notice the carving for the badge, that is not a B7 spoiler. :P

              Based on this thread;

I figure it should be a zender or a hartge spoiler. Most likely the zender (not a food picture of that One), because hartge didnt cut the BMW logo out.

The b7 turbo spoiler is smaller then mine. At least the edges are.

                  Small update, without any pictures.

Cut the springs for temporarily use. Looking for a pair of billsteins b8 to put coilover sleeves on.

I've been cutting 2,5 coil on the front. But I'm afraid this will not do the job. I think it's still too high. What did you guys cut on the front springs?

No pictures because when I was cleaning all things up, I broke a lamp and it sliced my finger open from top till bottom. Doc said I couldnt take pictures

                  Will be posted soon!

                      Looks nice.

A cheap fix is getting e30 shocks and some e30 60 or 80 mm lowering springs for the front.
And use the flex on the rear end because the e30 stuf wont fit in the rear.

Ik heb ook een e28'ook druk bezig met het verlaag stadium

I've got a guy who creates the most badass things out of metal. He offered to fix me the sleeves, so I will go for this option. Before that, since I've contacted brian about his cut springs, I'll cut my springs once more.

@fpsthomas Bedankt trouwens! Wel een goede tip. Waar kom je vandaan?

This might also be very interesting cheap way to make airride for your e28

First pics with lowered front, rest of pics will follow soon.

                              rims: 16x8j tires: 225/55/16 and 205/55/16
Tires will be replaced with lower onces (40), but for now its ok.
