  • Mandi's 180sx & S14a

    Hi Stanceworks community

Finally gotten around to posting up my build thread on here. Really love the style of the cars around this site so thought I would introduce everyone to my cars.

I have two at the moment which are keeping me poor haha.

My first is my S14a which is my daily driven car.

I swapped this car (had a 1jz manual soarer jzz30) and apart from the respray was totally standard and incredibly well maintained, a real find considering alot of these cars are abused these days

What I have done to it is installed a headunit, lowered it on MCA coilovers all round and purchased a genuine JDM front bar as well as Navan Series 1 genuine side skirts, crystal series 2 indicators, sub/amp/speakers etc. It's still quite a work in progress and am taking my time as I want to do justice to how immaculate I got the car, so it's important that I do everything as well as I can!

So here is how it looked when I got it:

And here is the last thing I have done to it (trial fit my new parts)

So I look forward to rubbing down the bar and skirts this weekend ready for them to be sprayed

Now my second car, it was originally a daily until I got defected and my registration cancelled. This car is my baby, when I originally bought the car 3 years ago this is what it looked like:

I soon removed the big kit and replaced with factory bars and started drifting in it

Front guards weren't very good and wanted to make the car more respectable, I spent some time rubbing the car down and masking up so the painter could paint it for me and swapped over to a s14 series 2 front end as well.

I bought some SSR Longchamps (15x8.5 -8 and 15x10 -40), Varrstoen's (17x9.0 +15 and 17x9.5 +0), aero side skirts, topstage roof wing and origin bootlip.

    Drifted it

Got ran into by a commodore wagon that spun in front of me, had to exit through the window for the rest of the day, I bought a new door for it and crowbar'd the old one off, fitted it (difficult doing it on your own too argh), and literally kicked out the dent in the rear panel, bogged and sanded it

Decided I wanted to take another direction with the car, started rubbing it back again and pulling it apart by myself, bought rear bolt on guards and some paint. The car took some blood off me, I discovered I'd smashed a rim when I hit the ripple strip the month before, got that repaired then resprayed them all.

My dad re-bogged the dent I fixed before, then after I masked it up and rubbed the car down he primered it and sprayed the base coat on it for me, best dad ever

Then I attacked the car with my airbrush, I spent 9 hours a day at work (auto eleccy) came home and worked on this til the early mornings got 5hours a night sleep for a week to get it ready.

Sorry about the length, this is all just cliff notes and I have left lots of little details out but didn't want to bore people.

When I get home (at work at the moment) I will upload some of my incar drifting footage to so people can see the tracks I drift

Lower it, put the Longchamps back on it, and I will start a church where we worship you.
Good shit man. Loving 240's so much recently.

Haha I have since sold the longchamps, too much of a little girl to run them and possibly damage them!

Haha unfortunately the longies have been sold, I was scared I'd smash up a rim plus they were in such great condition aswell.

Thank you for the kind words all, very welcoming!

There was a massive big list, the diff doesn't single spin, the rubbers on the foot pedals were removed, water squirters on the bonnet not hooked up, not majors but lots of little things they basically went over the car

Thank you very much, all up I have probably spent around 40hours plus just airbrushing the car, still have little touches to do on it, but it's getting there. I found airbrushing the car was a good way I could put myself onto the car
