Olla,

I've been meaning to make a thread for a while, i've been lurking for a while, i like it here.
Everyone seems to appreciate cars with no bias, super chilled yada yada yada.

Anywho, I drive a 1997 VW Golf GL. I'm from a Australia.

This isn't as much a build thread as it is a slow progress thread and silly cheap mods, not that i'm a tight ass. I'm a student so not much money comes my way. When it does come my way it goes straight into my car usually, it's my baby.

What the car looks like you ask?

I'll give you a small timeline.

Not the day i got her but nothing changed at this point.







Not much changed for a while, i was to busy decided what to do.

I bought coilovers and converted the car to 5x100 stud pattern.



I've been meaning to take some good photos with a proper camera, i have to adjust the coilovers first sitting to high

By the end of these holidays i would like to be looking like this, i think i shall get there.



Plans for the future:

-Some nice wheels, i was thinking Fifteen 52 Tarmacs or Diamond Racing Steelies.

-More power, lets face it you can never have enough.

-The normal VW things, Roof racks more stickers.

Give me your opinions on my car.

no stickers. both wheels are alright, but both way over done esp on mk3's. but thats just my opinion, i have diamonds so i cant really talk. also they are WAY too heavy , esp if youre ganna put some power into that motor. clean pallet though

sounds fun but dont try to be so, well by the book. it sounds like you just want to make your car how every mk3 looks. no offense.

just take it in strides. do what you want as you find deals and so on. every mk3 does not need the same wheels, roof rack and stickers.

Here in Australia most of this stuff is never done.

If ya go bigger engine you going for the abf? 2ltr 16valve with 150 bhp or the vr6 2.8?

Car dont look bad. Imo stay away from vento front. But each to there own.

The stud conversion is done. I learned this after. That's life I guess.

The abf is the one for me. I already have a vr and the engine is so heavy it is crazy. Also the abf didn't come to Australia so to my knowledge is be the only one in Australia
