  • BMW E30 Touring from the UK

    Hey guys.
This is the first build thread I have ever done so bare with me.
I have had my 1990 E30 touring 325i for about 3-4 months. It was lightly lowered before I bought it and I have driven it like this since buying it as was waiting to sell my previous vehicle before I started on this one.

It's pretty clean and runs perfectly other than a few electrical issues that need an afternoon sorting out.
Anyway, the first parts of the puzzle are here and waiting to be prepped and fitted
I have 4 new tyres, DGR coilovers and some spare front suspension legs/uprights to make the fitting a bit easier and quicker.

I am planning on doing as many shows as possible next year in it and also get a few track days booked up before a big trip back to the Nurburgring.

As you can probably see I am from the UK, I actually work for Type 2 Detectives which is an air cooled VW shop and Lowly Gentlemen/Stanceworks european distributer so you may have seen a few vehicles that have been through our workshops like the 356 and Harvey's Split Screen.

Anyways, here's a few pics to start with and plan to keep it updated as often as I remember.

    Marc

                          Slowly but surely getting there.
Cut down and stripped the struts/uprights today, ready to TIG them up in the week

Bit of an update as boring as it may be!
Cut down and modified front uprights were sent of for blasting and I got them welded up today!
I was going to MIG weld them myself but thought TIG welding them would be neater and stronger.
So I got an absolute god of anything to do with metal work to sort them out for me today, he is also old enough to collect his pension!

Next step is to etch primer and paint the hubs and also the same with the blasted backing plates and then wait for my adjustable top mounts that UK customs still have waiting to be processed since 1st Jan!!
