The colour is "Calypso Metallic" which is more of a green than it is a blue I'm afraid dude!

It does have slight rear rake, yes. I need a chassis notch to take the front down a little more and level it up.

The girlfriend finished her drawing of the golf last night.

Photo of the drawing does not do it justice!

Evening! It's been a while since I posted! It's not been a particularly good time either.

Two weeks after joining this forum I was rear ended (New years eve) The car was deemed a total write-off (totalled to the US guys here) however, I was allowed to keep the car and paid out for it.

The damage doesn't look bad but due to the age of the car, the insurance company wouldn't pay to repair it. 3 weeks later it was in the bodyshop and 4 days later I had it back. I had the damage repaired, a bit of work on the wing repaired and abit on the drivers door. To say I was unhappy is an under statment. A few photos of the work...

The scratches were not there when the car was dropped off:

Run in the paint and scratches in the filler

            Filler edge on the wing

Scratches and filler in the wing

And I've also noticed that the rear panel is nowhere near straight. The car is going back on Monday for the work to be re-done.

On top of this, a couple of weeks ago I collected a US Westy front. These are INCREDIBLY rare over here in the UK so i'm really happy to have one! (Photo from the for sale thread)

And hopefully how it'll look (Photoshopped onto my car)

That's where I'm upto now. The car is currently off the road due to the MOT (UK annual safety test) having run out. Over the next 5 week the car will have the following:

            New rear Axel bushings
            New full exhaust
            New headlight loom
            New rear light loom
            Get the West front on
            Get the US bumper/indicators on

I'll update when it starts moving again!

I agree, it's crazy. I paid the equivalent of 500 dollars for the Westy front!

                      Update time!

I've painted the Westy grille black to freshen it up and finally got it fitted. Ignore the red trim, it's now black.

I also managed to find some US indicators in the UK that I need for my US bumpers. These have been purchased but due to the holidays over here in the UK, they may take a week or so to arrive.

In other news, when my car was written off (Totalled) I tried to claim back my £400 lost earning. They came back to me yesterday and offered me over £3000!! This means Static+ airbags are on the cards for the front meaning I can go lower at last!

                      I'll update as things happen!

I've been a busy boy recently! After going to Early Edition and promising not to spend any money, I ended up with a set of pressed number plates.

2 days later and after an absolute nightmare, the car passed its MOT (UK road legality test) so the car is back on the road!

Unfortunately I had a slight mishap with a speed hump last night. Speed hump won for once...

Damaged floor is the main bit.

Now, I know you US lads probably see quite a few Westy fronted Gfs but here in the UK, they're very few and far between. I still need to paint the lower grille trim but here are the first proper photos since it went on...

As usual, all comments are welcome!
