  • Hey guy, its an e28

    Edit 1

1986 BMW 535i Alpinweiß I. I started off at 15 with a 2000 Subaru RS automatic with blown headgaskets. Over the two years I owned it I had gone through 3 engines, 5 sets of headgaskets, and did a full 5 speed swap and coilovers. The car was a ball to drive and handled extremely well with coilovers, swaybars, new bushings and many other suspension mods. I was never satisfied with how high up the car was though, I could never get it to go low before I started tearing axle boots. I also never really like AWD because it isn't that fun. So I sold the car and found this beauty near Tampa, FL. I bought the car and had it shipped up to NH! I couldn't be happier with it!

    The day I got it:

Then I bought these and 20mm spacers:

So I threw them on and I have been driving around like this:

    Most recent picture:

    AND STORAGE):

Flamingo will be ripped off next time i drive the car, its already being held on by barely anything.

I ordered SPAX springs, and will be getting e90 drop hats, if that isn't low enough I will most likely end up cutting some off the spax... I also have two front valences that are ready to go on come spring.

I also have new upper control arms and rear endlinks going in, they are both blown out:/

Fixing my headrests this weekend (they are stuck in awkward positions)

Also taking out my ECU to figure out my PIN count so I can get a Turner chip for my car.
    Just lower it.

you should not waste your money on the turner chip and get a miller war chip. So much better.

My dad wants to get it for me for Christmas/Birthday (4 days apart) and, because of family money struggles, we don't have a lot to spend, I wanted to originally, but my dad wants to get me that so I am not complaining. He wants to get me a chip and since I don't really care about going that fast anymore and just need the slight increase in fuel economy I am going with the turner chip for now. Miller will be down the road (will probably do the MAF conversion at the same time for the throttle response)

Ohh nice. That's a good plan. I'll hopefully be getting the maf and chip soon and probably a cam and injectors. M30 have a lot of potential. But they do get horrible gas mileage.

None of the above. Send your stock cam to Ireland engineering and they'll regrind it to a 292 degree for $190 I'm gonna go to a pull apart and get a spare to send off so I can still drive the car around while it's being ground down.

                I just changed your life

So, now that I am on vacation and I don't have work for a while, I am going to get some stuff done on the e28.

I bought an mtech one steering wheel and threw that on today:

I also got my valence primed:

And my SPAX springs, front upper control arms, and rear endlinks came in today:

Car is getting a garage spot for the week

Springs were going to go on today, but I broke the release pin for the jack so I couldn't get it to lower and had no way to (safely) get the car in the air, friend is bringing over a jack Wednesday night and the springs are going on as well as a test fit for the contours with them. Also planning on getting e90 drop hats if I am no satisfied with it.

Trying to fix the jack ):

The blue trunk is for my friends wrx, we are filling the holes for a wingless trunk

Okay so the spax went on and this is about a day of settling, still not low enough):

and a measurement of that box, it was crushed and slightly flex so its more around 3.7"

The contours will drop it more in the springs when the car is driven again, as it looks now though I will be getting e90 top hats, and putting in the rear springs possibly.

Test fitting the valence tomorrow on my birthday and getting the foglights off so I can have custom mounts made for them, also getting my original wooden shift knob refinished so I can have that wood again.
