I just thought I would share pics of how far my car has come in the time I have owned it (3.5 years). Adalia is a 4/87 1988 BMW 528eA super eta, cirrus blue over pacific. I am the third owner with all original maintnance reciepts and buyers slips since day one. She was garage kept and lady driven all her life. I purchased her for $1200 in Smithfield, VA. This car truly is one of a kind. She had the front and rear main seals as well as some spun crank bearing replaced before I bought her, and no major work other than transmissions done since.
She is a 5 speed swapped car now (Aug, 2011) and quite different than she used to be. I'll let the pics do the talking. ***BTW I am not a photographer and the photos were shot with crappy Coolpix cameras or cell phones.***
Purchased May 2009
Wasted no time installing option B BBS 14's, sport steering wheel
Installed the Hella H4/H1 setup from my previous wrecked 86 eta.
Installed Zender wing from previous 86 car, then later shadowlined the tails and painted the turns red.
Beach Bimmer!
Gen 5
On the ferry
stock stance
HUGE difference once the new to me wheels were installed. I still have these on the car to this day... my $50 set of e39 16" style 29 wheels. 205/50/tire fitment
Later I added my $60 craigslist find Thule rack with $32 material from Home Depot to make my crude, but very useful carrier.
sweet rolling shot taken from her 535iS when we picked it up. She is driving Adalia in this pic.
Ladder my wife uses for work (she's an elctrician). Not long before the pic was taken, my wife had tapped a guard rail at a gas station a little too hard, bending the passenger side frame rail and requiring the removal of the front bumper. No problem I guess.
Myself with Jared Houston
Carrying a lot of stuff on top because the trunk was full of Christmas cheer!
The largest thing the car has ever carried
NOW! On to the lowering. Though the car is not stanced... I still feel she looks pretty damn good sitting even moderately low. I installed all new suspension components like the front and rear mounts, front adjustable sway bar links, poly upper control arm mounts (powerflex), Bilstein equipment with BavAuto springs. I love the way the progressive springs feel on the twists.
Then I did some shadowline work Wow what a huge difference
Well time passed by and I just drove the crap out of her for the summer and what have ya. Nothing really done to the car other than normal maintenance, a German print OBC, and a FRESH exhaust. Pics on that later.
Now that the suspension has settled and the paint is looking more like ass, I figured i will have some fun with it!! here we go! Duplicolor trim paint and primer used. Roof rack sold as well. I was bored with it.
Phineas and ferb FTW!
Trunk shit
Gotta respect the squirrel!!!
How she sits now!
More pics to come later.
This car is my daily driver and has been since I have owned it. I'll get some interior shots as well. I love my car and eventually it will go a little lower once I install the e90 drop hats.
