Update 5/2/13
Nothing to special. Just some pictures of the front bench bumper removed.
Looks worlds better in real life. I really like it, will need to buy an air dam eventually.
I still have my old leather seats from my z31 in the garage, put them in the s130, will need some work to make them fit, as I researched it.
for some reason I had the idea it was a direct bolt in. Would've been nice.
Torn up, but better than nothing.

Bumper still on.

Bumper removed with strut things still attached.

And it all removed. Not really sure where to put turn signals now tho.

And a different angle

I also fixed the center gauges. Their was a rattling sound coming from inside the casing. So I opened it up and three screws that hold in the timer on the far right gauge backed out when I would press the restart button on the outside, so fixed that and gave it a clean and remove the mesh that covers timer as it was torn in half.

Okay here are some videos of the 280zx.
This one is with the cat only connected from the front bolts and left open right after.

And the following is with the cat totally disconnected.
I did this to see what would be the difference was, and was a lot actually.

So I hit up the local auto parts store bought some grade 8 bolts that where about 4 dollers and connected the cat back to see how that was, and what a difference it was.
Looked nice and shiny when I put them on, new parts look so nice on an old car.

Would that be simpler? Havent really done so much research on the difference on both na and turbo.

Yeah thats what im leaning on doing for the most part. Something simple and basic. Im between that and tubo l28. Decisions Decisions.

I've actually thought about doing that exact swap, or either turbo the Ol' L28.
Wonder how much boost it can handle on stock internals.

Thanks man, I took on the task head on first, because I saw the potential of the body, and well rust is fixible and interior is replaceableOriginally posted by ajnardo View Postdamn this has come a long way. i probably would never have tackled this project after seeing the car in it's original condition. do work.
Its crazy everytime I work on it i think of something knew that I should to do it.
Lol thanks for the support brick. I was thinking of getting a custom one made and polish it or maybe even carbs but them darn things can be expinsive as shit.Originally posted by 244Brick View PostFinally, you're doing work! I'm loving everything so far!!

Update 4/16/13
Finally an update on Sally. With pictures and videos. I apologize for the videos before hand. I thought id try something new.
First I started to sand down quarter panel surface rust, that I didnt get to the previous time I tried to sand it and primer it. Rust was going through primer. So motivation kicked in because the vehicles had to be moved due to code complience. *thumbs down.
So I thought we where gonna park the car with a friend or something, so I was like since I have time right now ill take on the task. And heres how it started.

Hit it with the Sanding block mostly, and I have to say I was really suprised how well the block worked

Gave it about 4 counts of primer, just to make sure surface rust doesnt go through it.

How she looked cooped up in the back yard in the corner. And pic of hood also, still needs some aligning so it can close properly.

Dat straight 6 engine bay picture. Will start deleting crap that doesn't work.

Still had half the day left. So I just said F it and painted the dash metal skeleton with some undercoating I had saved up from my z31. Was gonna do a rising sun on it, but that'll be in the near future.

Undercoating maybe half the can left.

Dash looking all pale and what not.

And a video of me painting Yay! Im so lame.

Sorry for the sideways video, was still trying to figure out my phone.

Then had to finish it up with black spray paint, since the undercoating finished on me.

Then more rust. Not so bad as the passenger side tho, so im happy with that.

Dash back in with the gauges, looks pretty raw, I really like how it looks. Maybe you could even say Ratty.

New work area for the Ol' girl, And im actually motivated to work on it, since I have so much space around her.

And ill end this update with my Girlfriend and Shady, I had to beg her to just stand by the car. I was like babe go model in front on the 280, she was like idk how. Told her well just stand by it and smile, I was lucky she even smiled and did it.
