Since I’ve just completed a build thread for my Saab 9-5 I thought I’d upload this one too. This is my girlfriends 2001 Volkswagen Beetle finished in Reflex Silver.
We bought this one back in January this year on 40mm unbranded lowering springs and 18x8 replica Porsche Twists. It was very clean, and was a swap plus a bit of cash for her 2001 Seat Leon TDI. He caught the long straw as that was needing tons of work and this was perfect, minus a temperamental CD player that we sorted the following day!
It’s the 2.0 Petrol and was bought with only 59.000 on the clock. Big plans here.
The Twists didn’t last very long as she wanted to make the car here own, so they went and she bought some EMPI style wheels which were pretty funky in 18x8.5, we had these refurbished in Gunmetal grey and bought some second hand TA coilovers for just under £100. Bargain.
These lasted a few months (although suiting the car very well in my opinion and she bought some BLQ R’s in 18x8, had a mate create some centre caps for us too.
More recently in October, a paddle valve Airlift kit came up for sale on EVVO, the Beetle Owners club for a very good price. So we went halves. And now it’s fitted!
So we’ve got Airlift struts and bags, viair compressor and a 5-gallon tank filling up the boot
How it looked when we bought it

Moving on to coilovers and EMPI's
