its one of my favorite mercedes..I'm trying to purchase one w124 too, but coupe...

you cut the spring coils, but keep the oem dampers? how it rides? looks really great!
yeah i just cut all stock stuff. it rides fine still stiff and front springs still have alot of tension. id like to get dampening adjustable struts because i wanna take more out of the front. and a lil more in the rear.

started a topic W124 daily driven project.. sorta

    W124 daily driven project.. sorta

i always had vws thats what i grew up on. ive had several between mk1 rabbits caddys and cabriolets. to mk2 gtis and jettas. i wanted something different... i wanted a much bigger car. ive always been a fan of v.i.p style cars in japan but i still wanted a german vehicle. i sold my last rabbit and searched for all types of cars ls400's gs300's but a friend of mine brought a 94 mercedes e320 to my attention one night over a couple beers.. best thing about the car it was local. so next day i called the owner to check it out to see how clean the car was. i was really pleased with the car and bought it on site. the next day i cut a bit off the springs and got some amg wheels.

now i wouldnt say i build much to the engine. other than the usual oil change and here and there maintenance. but i must say im bit of a wheel whore... a very broke wheel whore. but eh what whores arent broke am i right? i got a set of porsche twists from amgwheelwhore whose a good friend of mine. but i decided to sell them and get back to the stocks just because i felt it didnt suit the car..

after getting rid of those wheels it was around the season of the annual h20 show here in maryland. i sold both sets of my wheels and wanted to get the yellow speed racing coilovers to do the same suspension as freshjive80 has on his w124.. but the coilovers never came in on time and i had to ride round stock but was still an enjoyable experience.

coming back from h20 i was hoping the coilovers were in my front yard. after two weeks i had to get my money back. so i was riding on stock suspension and stock wheels. kinda upset i had to do something to my car. so i went to my friend chris house and we cut more coils out of the suspension. i looked at a bunch of threads about lowering these body styles and most people do so i said fuck it why not. i also aquired a set of bbs style 5's to throw on there just because ive never seen this vehicle with a bmw wheel. i thought it would be pretty cool. i got some adapters from amgwheelwhore and went to town. the final offset would end up being -1 in the rear and +5 in the front. and with 205/40 tires. i can say im very happy with the outcome.

i like the picture of my friend matts car so i decided to post it too. lol but my future plans for the car is to keep it maintaned and get a differnt strut set up with adjustable tophats for the front. if any of you guys know or can fill me in to any little w124 secrets id love to know. thanks and look forward to more pics and updates.
Working...
