kinda forgot i had this thread here.

i've been real real real busy lately with school and work, but i've done a few small things to it lately like:

i made progress on the rear adjustable perches like this:

welded some ends on the sleeve, allowing me to have a surface to mount to the car. all i need now is the springs, which should show up soonish
and i put on a cleaned up intake manifold, replaced the gasket, iac, amm, injector o rings, all the vacuum lines, the oil separator box and flametrap, pcv hoses, and repaired a few spots on the wiring harness. also cleaned a few things up and rewired my efan too while it was apart.
    like dis:

    to this:

i had a little bit of trouble at first and it wouldn't hold an idle and i couldn't figure it out for the life of me. then i looked at the old intake and saw i forgot to swap out the coldstart injector block off plate. duh. the car had a giant vacuum leak. but now it looks all clean and shit and runs real good
and I fixed a few cracks on my Thule fairing and took all the stickers off because it looked ghetto. then repainted it with sem paint and stenciled out the Thule part by eye and painted it.

looks real nice. then I took it off after a week because I got sick of it

I also put some leds in the footwells so it looks like a jdm submarine

i know. shitty iphone picture swag

then i unjankified my front lip and re aligned the front bumper, but I don't have a picture of that so you'll have to use your imagination

then I got around to making a wood trunk floor because my car needs some hooptieclass

and that's about it. i've been saving a little for a new turbo motor swap, so wheels will probably have to wait a little longer

thanks. i'm still undecided on wheels, but i'll keep that in mind

so i guess i'll update this thing. I've done a couple things to the car since last March, so i'll start chronologically.
I just fixed things as they came and drove the car around most of spring. in April, I drove down the the bay area and Davis for the vcoa meet and had lots of fun. was a great road trip and the car ran flawlessly the whole way.
at the Oregon border with ansel+
                          crossing the gg bridge:
and at the olympic club (one of the best courses I've ever had the chance to play):

drove back up to Davis for the show on sunday:
there were a ton of really cool cars there and i should have taken more pictures. had a great time. drove home to portland the same day. the ride quality of the car wasn't too great, so when i got home i took a look at the car and found that the rear suspension had basically no travel and just sat on bumpstops. so I drove it like 10 hours each way like that haha. cut those things out and the car magically rode better.

shortly after Davis was ipd weekend in May. the ipd garage sale is always a fun show and is one of the largest on the west coast. and the nice thing is it's only 15 minutes from home.

went to the rsi bbq the night before and hung out, got several comments like "man why the fuck is it so low?" and "would you sell it for $1000?". was a lot of fun. went to the ipd garage sale the next day, which was real cool. lots of volvos from all vintages came from all over. was a great weekend.

it was the end of may at this point. decided to try and clean up the paint a little, so i bought a buffer and a bunch of compounds, and went at it. the paint turned out great for what it is, and got most scratches out. I was pretty impressed and gingerly washed the car and waxed it like every two weeks haha.

most of summer i just drove the car around and went to more meets and stuff. didn't really do too much work to the car, just minimal stuff like brakes, new alternator, and shit like that.

at one point i test fit some wheels from my friend's car thats soon to be ls swapped:

helped a couple buddies of mine out with their cars because mine isn't broken. put coilovers on my buddies turbo 244:

the car is still a pile of shit anyways who cares

then sorta helped a friend with an engine swap (or part and crush) on his car. bunch of guys helped out and they all have these shitty volvos:

and some unrelated pics my friend took from summertime:

but summer ended and fall term started. I was busy with the whole work school bullshit thing and didn't have much time for the car, and when did, i'd rather spend it drinking beer and doing dumb shit with friends. so i just drove it around and washed it occasionally.

then one night i decided to blow my car up.

ended up blowing up the rear end and trans, the car wouldn't even roll because the rear end was locked up haha. woooooohooooo. it kinda sucked because i just just about to buy wheels the following week, but now i had to get my car driving again. life.
sat like this for a couple days:

I collected parts for it like a new 2.4 rear end with 3.31 gears, lower milage m46 from a turbo car, new poly bushings for everything, ipd adjustable torque rods, and a bunch of small stuff. i swapped in the rear end the following weekend with the new stuff and got the car rolling. wasn't too bad of a job, pretty straightforward. i decided i didn't want to replace a trans on a garage floor with jackstands, so i towed it to a family members shop and did it there on a lift.
realized how much of a pain it is to tow a lowered car. oh well

but hey, I had my car running and driving again and i was happy as a clam.
it was around the holidays so i made the car slightly more festive:

                          got a littttttttle snow:

used the rack to transport a project for school:

drove it up north with a couple local guys to the nw toy run, was a awesome show, but was VERY COLD:

lost a little trim on the trip i guess haha. replaced it and all is well.

winter break started so i planned to get a couple things done, but just made a big dumb loud boat anchor and replaced the one that i installed previously:
damn cubic volume is important when building a sub box.

worked on friend's cars over break instead of mine because my car is lame anyways. break ended and spring term started, which brings this up to date.

right now I'm just working and going to school and back to saving for wheels. so yeah, that's that.
                          -Josh
