  • Let me know if you want a parts car, I have a '72 2002 that has a torn front subframe, but might be useful to you. I'm in Narragansett

    • Big update tomorrow. Bodywork is almost over and the bay is looking silky smooth. Perfect tuck/ fitment in the front and rear and the m10 is ready to roar! A few more weeks of sanding and smoothing before paint. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's glorious.

Just one quick question... I asked you on instagram but can't seem to find the comment. You removed 3" of the front strut housing right?

Yea, I ended up taking out 3" of the strut body when first installed. to get the "big wing" car lower, I had to swap in a 3 inch 600ft/lb spring into the front to get it lower. im still running the 3' springs spun all the way up while I finish the bay and the subframe is 1.5" off the ground.

The passenger side is almost finished and the firewall is 90% complete. next is the painful driver side. while the 3+ feet of snow blocking me out of my garage melts, I have been rewrapping the interior panels and fabricating some aluminum pieces to tie the seats into the interior.

                        • Im back in action. the 27,000 feet of snow is melted and I can get back into the garage again. the bay is coming along nicely and isn't giving me much trouble. Its all sealed up and although I H@%& sanding, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Oo yea, I decided to keep the chrome body trim for some extra style points!!

I ended up buying a rustfree 1989 325i coupe and decided that I don't want to have 100bhp in the '02. I am going to be swapping the m20b25 into the '02 by using the DIY guide called "6 into 2 does go" and a fellow m20 2002 owner named Jason belina is going I walk me through the few steps of slapping a snail on it. He has also been cool enough to throw his tune on it to make things easier. I will update tomorrow with pictures
