  • Gallardo Wide Arch Invidia Spyder

I work for a supercar dealers in the UK, last year we designed and built our own wide arch Gallardo bodykit.....

    Amari Super Cars.

We called the kit the Invidia, based on the Italin word for envy.

This was our demo car, a manual coupe.....

We used the demo car for a few months, then sold it.

We have really missed having it around as it turned more heads than any other Gallardo or Murci does, so we have decided to build another.

Brighter, faster, louder, better and more importantly, a Spyder this time

The last car didn't get the build properly documented, and as we get asked so many questions about the build process, Im going to do a proper build thread on this one.

    First step, buy a Gallardo.....

So today we bought a standard 2006 Giallo Midas Gallardo Spyder E-Gear.....

I will keep this updated as much as I can as we progress....

We haven't done anything with this car since it arrived as we have been very busy with other work, however our wide arch kit arrived yesterday so we got that out to check it over...

      Looks ok to me!

Hopefully this week we can do some of the mechanical jobs the car needs and start measuring up for wheels.

        Work started on this now.

Took the wheels off and cleaned the arches properly, they were filthy so it makes it nicer to work on and also everything needs to be clean for when we put nice new wheels on.

Started stripping a few parts off, it needs some suspension work and bushes replaced, and the roof doesn't work properly so needs attention.

Awesome. I'd love to see the process of designing and making the widebody kit.

What is the bodykit made out of? I hope it's not FRP or whatever.

The front struts were leaking, at first we thought they needed to be replaced but then Lamborghini quoted us over £1300 +VAT each side.....

So we stripped one down, cleaned it, checked the seals were ok, rebuilt it and it is good as new...

When we do the next side I will get some pics of it in bits.
