I can understand where your coming from, but with having a few previous other syclones/ typhoons they are a complete pain it the ass, have no reliability, always are broken and are more costly than a wife and kids.

I've got my rwd Ty with the 4.3 turbo if I miss it! Hopefully you'll love the Sy when its done

      kinda confused
I like to build things the way I want, the automatic/AWD of a stock/ modified Typhoon got boring. So I put a t-56 in it and made it more appealing for me to drive. Now I can do burnouts, rolling burnouts and actually drive it a lot harder (when it actually works).

As for the sy, I didn't want to deal with the unreliable OBD1 nightmare 4.3 turbo 6 cylinder motor. I wanted a truck that I could drive to the USA for shows (I do a lot of that), auto cross, daily drive and take to the track. A LSX has great reliability, a huge aftermarket supply of parts available and will be turn key every day. As for the boost, I've got my hands full enough building this thing from the ground up. Forced induction will come a year or two down the road when all the bugs have been worked out and when my wallet allows.

        Small Update!

My new tires arrived and I had to bring them up to the shop so I planned some time get a few things done, every step helps!

My A/C accumulator had the classic dings and shitty looking engraving marks....which pissed me off. So I spent about and hour sanding this and getting it looking the way I wanted. Was going for that "brushed" look.

Sanded out the major bumps and bruises starting with 80 Gritt sand paper and sanded all the way back to 320 Gritt. Then finally hit it with a red scotch brite!

Got my lower rad finished up after getting the clamps coated!

Installed my inner fenders, wanted to see how they would look, I love the look of them, its very different then the factory satin black. Either way, opinions welcome....

Finally, my dad stumbled upon on very nice condition LS2 intake manifold when he was in Carslile PA last weekend for a steal of a deal! So this will be going on eventually! I've read that these are a hell of a bolt on improvement to a LS1 and the HP gains are very impressive. So we'll have to see.

        Talk to ya soon,
        Tyler

Don't get me wrong, I love it already! There are few cars I'm a purist over (and that list is VERY short) but when things get changed for the better, I'm cool with it. This is one of those instances.

I'm happy your into it! I wont let you down!

            UPDATE

So its been a few weeks and I've really been trying to finish this thing up! Still a ways to go but i'm so close!

First things first, I took apart the front brake/hub/spindle assembly and packaged it up!

Somewhere in between test fitting and installing the new setup...

            And finished!

Finally got my 90 degree silicone elbow mounted up to my throttle body so I could start making the intake..

After that I put my vette rollers on and proceeded to push it over to where the hoist was in the other bay.. this is where I totally fell inlove all over again and stopped and had a mini photoshoot in the late afternoon!

I'll let the photos goo for a bit....

Oh yeah, Got the exhaust all fitted finally and tacked up...

Wasn't happy with my upper radiator hose after the second version so I took it apart again. I had cut these two pieces of pipe you can see in the center section and had a friend weld it up! came out great. Its not exactly how I wanted it but im happy enough to leave it for the summer!

Then came the mess where my fabbed up and painted rad cover interfered with my intake elbow. So I started trimming.

Still had more to go! So I trimmed it more and fitted it again and again. Finally I was happy with this.

Had some spare pieces of aluminum laying around and didn't want to just leave the rad cover cut without a nice finished rolled edge on it. So I trimmed up two pieces to add to the rad support cover. Had them welded after fitting them!

After that I figured out where I wanted the exhaust tips to sit behind my roll pan. My father and I put the box back on, trimmed the exhaust tips and after that I pulled the exhaust off that hadn't been fully welded and had it welded up!

Got the exhaust back the next morning and put it back on! the exhaust was a huge final part of the build, getting it to work was very difficult but it worked out great! Welded up and looking great!

Got my rad cover back aswell, one of the guys at work primed it for me which was awesome. Sanded it that night and painted it textured satin black.

Looked pretty good when it was all done.

after that we checked everything underneath on the hoist, mounted up the tranny cooler (forgot to take pictures of that however I will). Loaded up the diff, transfer case, trans and engine with fluids and finished some final things off.

My father and I loaded up the Sy on the trailer to take it to a friend of my fathers. It will remain there for a few weeks so that he can help me out with the wiring. Longstory short when I get it back it should be firing over

            That's all for now guys!

                              What up everyone,

Its been a long time since I've done a update on any of my threads, I got the truck back what felt like ages ago now. Its now running/ driving but like any vehicle built from the ground up is still not as dependable for daily driving as I would like. The constant fight of "shaking he truck down" isn't at all close to over. The short test drive followed by break downs on the side of random roads by my house seem to be a reoccurring theme.

I think m getting fairly close, The major things I have left to address are as follows:

                              - fixing my front colilovers (sy/ty's are not meant to go low at all)
                              - alignment
                              - finish tuning.
                              - give the truck yet another once over of everything.

With the summer out the window, I'm just hoping to be able to drive it to work and to the beach once before it goes into hibernation.

Ill try and start updates again regularly but for nowhere is a few pictures since getting it back.

Still have to lower it and dial it in amongst a million other things, but its close.
