Honestly, after being neck-deep in this project, I can happily say a Subaru GD body is NOT the car to radius. I radiused my rear fenders by about 20mm, and even that little bit (compared to VIP dudes) has required EXTREME cutting and reworking of the doors, gastank area, inner fenders, and bumper supports.

Yadda yadda school, yadda work, yadda other bullshit keeping me from working on the car as much as I should.

Got some more body work done, on the very worst corner, which is now finally getting close to where I want it to be.
These are still very rough, as there is plenty more building and shaping to be done, but the passenger rear corner was always horribly misshapen, and now it looks like the driver side in flare, shape and everything. Very pleased with finally having it "close" to being done.

It doesn't look like this, SUPER rough, and was taken in the middle of sanding and shaping.

Also, for the guys worried that the body filler would crack,
turns out my bondo, on top of fiberglass, on top of welded metal is pretty sturdy.
So much so that airing the car out over and over has pulled the fender off away from the car!

And some JDM action shots with the bumpers on.
The bumper edges are all being redone with them, as they don't look right at all.
But hey, this is a learning process for me, and I'm getting better everytime I fuck something up, right? lol

And lastly, the man the myth the legend, my Dad. Who has helped me immensely with this thing. From sanding, to teaching me common sense shit. We're both amateurs, but it's been a good....bonding project.
    Get it. Bonding? Bondo?
    Okay I'll stop now.

I’ve had too many cars to list and most of them sucked.

            • So rad to see your dad lending a hand. Also rad to see that you could air out on the fenders and they didn't crack I was a little worried about that myself from the photos.

              I like em dropped.

              • Thanks all, very much! Yeah, I am loving how much the wheels stick out past the car. Definitely going to look ridiculous, if nothing else.

Might go to Summer IA, Kentucky is a little far for me.
H20 I say I'm going to go to every year, this might be that year. haha

Yeah man, my Dad is a huge car guy- loves older European sports cars especially. He's had an E-Type, Triumphs, TVR's in his younger days, and had a few Nissan Z's that I loved as a kid!

And the fronts, there really isn't all that much bondo. On the back, not gonna lie, it's got a good bit, but the way the wheel well is, in the rear it will hit on the inside before the outside, so I thinkkkkk it's going to work out well in the end!

Cool man I wasn't trying to take away from your work or anything like that. I'm glad to see it's all holding together.

                          • Small update again.
Working on the car periodically, inbetween school and work.
Finals are coming up, and then SoWo!
If my car is not done by SoWo I will have dishonored my family, and will be forced to leave the country in shame.

                            ANYWHO,
Way back, I was going to get a picture of how I did my fenders and constructed them.
took the fronts off tonight, and figured I'd get a snap of it.
Also, the fitment is so aggressive that the front pulls the fender off the body.
Cool because that means I did a good job at making the fenders rigid, bad because it makes a body line gap.

It doesn't look thisssss bad, I had unbolted the fender at the bottom.

Still trying to finish up the bumpers after rewidening them.

This one might need to be re-rewidened.

Rear fenders are coming along nicely I think

                            More sanding, more shaping.
Thinking that I may not be in love with the curvature of the rear fenders, but at this point fuck it.

And here's how it looks as of tonight.

                              Sooo wide - beast stance

Is it me or are the front rims polished lip and the rear blacked out?
I think they look like the same set, just different lip finish, if I'm not wrong...
