Wider than it is Long: A build thread.

Yo dudes!
SoWo's over and after scrambling hard as fuck to get my bumper all finished, I got it 90% of the way!

So to update you where I left off on the build:
Used an ass ton of fiberglass to make it stronger and merge the two portions together and it's starting to look even better. A huge thank you to my friend Sean who taught me some awesome fiberglass techniques and helped me from the very start of this bumper.



Then started the filler. Oh joy...
This one picture doesn't even begin to do justice to the amount of work it took. I wanted to put as little filler on the bumper as possible, and in doing so I kept making high spots, and low spots, and sanding down my work I had already done.



Luckily, a good buddy of mine who does bodywork professionally had been over helping me at Sean's house and told me to hit him up if I needed help- which I did. I called my friend Gomez and in about 2 4 hours sessions he perfected and fixed what it took me 3 full days to do.



So now this baby was all but done! I did a coat of darker grey and a little touch up work on the drivers side and ziptied that fucker on for SoWo!
With the lip on it hangs low as hell. Ripped it off twice on the way down, and once on the way back- putting a huge crack in my lip.
Oh whalez!






All that's left to do is repair the lip, wrap the bumper, and build some tabs out of fiberglass to make it fit the car a little tighter. I might start doing more bodywork on the fenders and stuff, so it might start to look works before it gets better. hahah

I want to go on back road adventures this year. Luckily I've gotten over the fear I had with my tires as stretched as they are. I guess that's what happens when you don't ride low.

Provided I can get this brake setup working I definitely will be. That being said my girlfriend will be with me, and she doesn't much care for hard driving- and I gotta keep her happy or ill be up shit creek. Lol

Also, I think figure might as well update on some of the other pieces I've done on the car!

I sold the TE's to free up some life money, and because they were just so so nice and I worried about daily driving on them.
So I got some Gram Lights 57D's!





Also, I sold my old set of Ganadors and totally fucked uppppp. I had some Chargespeed replica mirrors for a while, but found another set of Ganadors in carbon fiber!
And to match with those, I got a very very rare Ganador exhaust tip. It's a little jdm ricey because it's just a tip, but it was too cool to not get.



And I've also started on a brake upgrade. I got a great deal on a set of Wilwood 6pot/4pot brakes. Although after starting to put them on, I realize the previous owner had done some wonky shit to them so I've been busting ass trying to fix them!

Hey guys! Long time no update! Man, I sure have done been doing lots of small stuff. But after WAY too long, I have finally gotten started building a new front bumper!

I started by ordering an ebay rep, just because the real bumper is insanely rare and insanely expensive.
So it finally got here!

As you can see my old one was pretty roasted.





First thing I did was cut it in half and make it useless.



Then started the fiberglass...which is itchy and sucks. I sureeee did miss it.





Those two pictures don't do justice to all the shit and work it took to start putting it together!
and it's finally starting to look like a bumper again!







Anyway, that's where I'm at right now! Hopefully it'll be all done before SoWo!
