  • E34 with plans

Hello there guys i just got myself a 1994 Calysporot Metallic 525i in A/T. Its got 145k on it and not a bad find for $1300. Ive got big plans for her and the wheels are already in my room until i can make them fit. I plan on getting coilovers and adapters for the wheels to fit this car all by Spring time so stay tuned for some fun progress shots because Ive got big plans!

The wheels going on her are 17x8.5/9.5 +9,-2 BBS RS in Chrome w/ gold bolts. Here is the beginning to a great project, I cant wait.

    and the wheels

The trans went out and i just got her back from the shop to find some more misc. stuff wrong. O well thats the joys of having a project. Ill get her back on the road in no time, until then here are some cleaned up pics. i added a license plate delete, next up after the car gets fixed will hopefully be some blizzacks for the upcoming winter. Id rather drive this than my e39

and one of my e39, the reason why i cant drive it in the snow...

    My plans
Replace control arms and bushings ASAP
Suspension upgrade (coils) by end of winter
    Adapters by spring
    BBS on before summer starts
    Stunt all summer.

looks like a good base to build on, why cant you drive the e39 in the snow? im sure it would be fine with snow tires like my m3 was

I dunno im just not confident in my snow driving skills plus i had a bad accident in the snow with my rwd Lexus a few years ago. Plus blizzacks are way cheaper in 15 inch than in 18 inch lol.

Ok so here is what I found after some research and I need some input from Bimmer/SW gurus:
The smallest adapter you can run are 15mm so if i want the BBS to work the final offsets after the adapters will be
        17x8.5 -6
        17x9.5 -13

I dont know if any e34 has ran these sizes before of its even possible. I keep thinking everything is possible with a little negative camber but am I pushing it too far?

oh true didnt think about the difference in tire size and price, i dont worry about my driving in snow, its the other people that tend to freak out (well around me anyway) but they are the ones who would end up hitting you

cant wait to see those wheels mounted up, possible to redrill them?

Lookin froward to seeing the progress on this, always loved old BMW's. Could've maybe went with a more original wheel choice but hey, it works.

This threw me off though.. " i added a license plate delete"
                Wat
I don't understand why people they "delete" stuff.. you just took the dang plate off

Its a plastic piece made for the gap the plate leaves. It makes it look cleaner imo.

redrill was my initial plan but apparently its really hard to do perfectly and its not perfect your wheels will never balance right. Plus it weakens your wheels. I decided to go w/ adapters but the offsets will be way in the negatives

                        Edit:
Im debating redrilling again. Because the sizes of the wheels are where I want them already, the adapters will make them way too aggressive. Im going to need to find a reputable company that has done it tho. After digging into it more deeper I dont think its all that bad...or am I wrong?

yep, two of them actually. The Mt. Airy one first and then the Jessup one. I have a new found respect for those places. The Jessup location had people there that I could pay to take off whatever I needed. I only needed help with the oil pan and exhaust and I will most likely be going back.
