87 saab 900 turbo build

Hi Stanceworks,


Im nathan and I own a 1987 SAAB 900 turbo SPG (special performance group). Why did i fall in love with a saab? They can be unreliable, finicky, and a pain in the ass when something goes wrong. But when everything goes right which happens sometimes, the car can put a huge smile on my face. The noise of the spooling turbo, the smell of the old leather, and super weird style of the 900 has made me love the car. Ever since ive bought the car I've been able to put 4000 kms of wonderful summer driving on it.

garrett t3/4 turbo
NGK iridium sparks
3" K&N highflow airfilter

suspension
spg sport coil springs (want to replace with lower and stiffer springs)
bilstein sport shocks
spg sway bars

original buffalo grey leather interior in amazing shape
Clarion head unit
4" JBL speakers up front, stock on the back

exterior
saab fog lights
saab mud guards
original to the car SPG panels (rust underneath)

During the winter, I need to rebuild my baby's transmission (notorious pinion bearings that wear out) as well as various amounts of body work. Right now im sanding down the rust, filling it and priming it. The bigger things i will have to bring to professionals because i want it done right.

this is the car in its current state of disrepair, makes me sad, but it will be ready for the summer
Need to repaint the car, fix the rust and LOWER IT!

yeah, things are starting to add up to alot of time and money...
I probably need to repaint the whole car, matching the paint will be a pain in the ass
worked on the kickboards today. hood looks sick up!

I've had a 900 t16, and they are really awesome! And pretty rare now! I follow this thread for shure.

I liked these too, and really was wanting one, until i heard horror stories, and basically i was told that they suck. I still think theyre cool tho,
I reeeeally would like to find an old 99 Turbo

before i started on the body work, no rust to be seen, but its all underneath the panels. dent was there when i bought the car. I want it to look better than this when im done.

awesome! subscribed... love these things ... especially the viggens with the rare Mesh on the rear window .... so secks..

brand new vented disks and pads along with remachined callipers!
(taken earlier in the summer)

headrest on the left has received treatment, one on right hasn't

as you can see, the front is sitting way too high, so I will be dropping that by an inch or two. Not sure if ill just get new coils or cut the ones i have. should be pretty straight forward.

make it so the fender gap is equal in front and back and you will have some mean ass rake
