Hello all. im new to the forum but ive been stalking the blog and forums for a while now
I own a 98 BMW 323is and its been a long 2 years for her. About 4 months ago i did what all people stereotype teenagers to do... got tanked and drove home, well, drove into a pole.

This is how it sat at the tow yard the next morning. I cant find any before pictures on my laptop but whatever, you know what an e36 looks like. The hood is chalkboard paint, poor decisions from a different drunk night
Anyways, when we got it home into the garage about 3 hours later i started picking it apart.

A terrible picture of the hood damage

Unfortunately the frame by the front of the fender was bent over itself and i had to slice a little bit off

the coils werent damaged

digging deeper i found the link between my control arm and sway bar in not so good condition. easy fix. but as i figured the problem was much worse than a little link and bearing.

So the control arm was pulled out. and from the comparison it was obviously tweaked
Im at a stand still right now waiting for a fender, hood, nose panel and lights. But heres a photo of how she sits currently

i know im not a photographer..

Oh and theres the set of BBS's.. in pieces too. waiting for a fresh powdercoat sooner than later

Lots of bolts in these things

I'll continue to update but i cant promise quick progress, between college work and DUI stuff im a little busy
November 17th 2012:
As the car parts slowly piled up on my doorstep i contemplated color matching them with the Alpine Weiss III paint, but went with a temporary alternative... vinyl wrap! It arrived a couple weeks ago and i was eager to give it a shot. i started with just the sunroof, since its an easy flat surface to practice on. So after stripping the car down i got to work.

It turned out to be a pretty easy process

The next weekend i gave my door a deliberate cleaning and put my skills to the test. it proved to be more of a challenge, as i anticipated.

The area around the door handle gave me a lot of problems, it took some patience to get this spot perfected

A couple hours later the door was complete and im pleased with the results

Next was a fender

Here's a corner from the back where i was in the process of wrapping the vinyl around (not very professional)

and here's the completed fender

After putting the fender on we could see a slight difference in color due to the black primer on the fender. i had a feeling this would happen, but as of right now its the least of my worries.
more to come soon...
