              • So this next update will come in multiple parts

                Because it's nowhere near finished!

So basically last weekend I started making a Fiberglass subwoofer enclosure, and this is a HUGE learning experience! But I think its going to become something great!
Note to someone wanting to try this themselves--DON'T USE ALUMINUM FOIL!

So too start we pulled the seat, plastic floor liner and got the floor cleaned up

Then we laid down the back(that fits damn near perfect)

With the cloth ready, we put down the first layer of Fiberlass

The next day once it hardened up, we pulled it out and Started layer 2

While that was drying I decided to pull the dash apart the replace the front speaker, and fit the new head unit.

                Old vs. New

And of course I forgot to get a picture with the new speaker in

And now too the bare minimum

And now to the final step for the back side of the box Layer 3

                It's starting to take shape!

With that done, we started on the sides

Templates were made, MDF was cut and sanded and put in place

Also during that time we cut the bottom straight.
Everything squared away, and caulked up. Next week is going to be fun

                Radio install will come shortly!

                • What makes you say not to use aluminum foil?

I wish I could trade my heart for an extra liver, just so I can drink more and care less.

Because when you try and peel the back most of it gets stuck. Its a pain in the ass haha

                    • did you wax it before laying the fiberglass?

                        • hahaha, I've never done it, but i've read people use wax. There's also a spray on thing you can use so it's easy to peel off the back once you lay the first layer.
