  • quantum/santana build up!

in april 2012 i bought my latest vw. a 83´santana, or better known in the staates: a quantum

the sales offer looks very good. the car stand since 1996 in a garage, good condition, no rust, nice paint, everything fine. so i bught that car in the near of kassel/germany. the first impression: realy in a good kondition:

when the car was back in my own garage i checked the complete car. and it was not in that good condition the seller tolds me....just see the "rust free car":

and the "nice pro job" the seller does on that car:

    cable traps:

    nice exhaust:

    nut on the suspension:

pro laid cable for the fog light without fueses!

    A REALY NICE CAR!

but i want that car. some sheet metal and me and my welding device become good friends

i got some help from a friend of mine...the welding god he helps me a lot to do that job.

after the welding i change all the bearings, all break hoses, new suspesions, h&r springs, breaks....just all the technical stuff:

there was also a lot of electonic stuff. the horn was disconected, a lot of strange wires, most of the lights didn´t work, the fan didn´t work as it should....but after all that hard work was done i get the final technical check by the german "tüv" to get the car legal back on the road!
