@ brum- except it's definitely meant to be used on automotive paint, as well as many other things. I don't know if you've had a bad experience with it, but this offers a MUCH better option to a "high quality wax and cleaning". I live in Athens, OH where their take on snow protection is dirt and pebbles. Wax isn't going to protect my paint from rocks being flung at my bumper.

@selah-it is fairly abrupt, and i thought it wasn't going to look good before I saw it. I'm not typically a fan of fenders that dont have the stock look after being pulled like so but this actually pulls it off extremely well. The rear fenders actually have room for more pulling, but the pictures dont show it.

@eddiegratis- I'm not the best person to ask. I'm going to be using megan tracks, which is what was on the car when chris had it. If I didn't have the megans I'd probably go for KW V3s or PSS9s

      Update

So I got my car into the shop today to get the exhaust and headers put on. Its loud. Like really loud. Cant wait to open it up some more.

      In progress:

While it was up on the lift, we checked out a couple things. I've had a rattling/clunking noise coming from the front left for a little bit now. found out it was a worn out ball joint in the camber kit that's on the car.

Doesnt look like much, but it's causing me to swerve all over the place since the wheel isnt secure.

Damage to the front after the accident. Not really much actually, but I think I'll use this as an excuse to get my next bumper. This one will probably be up for sale for cheap. No cracks that I saw.

Dip came in too! although I'll have to wait for my bumper(s?) to apply it.

While I do agree with you guys that it looks sick when slammed, I wont be able to go that low because my exhaust will drag like a mofo. I'd rather not destory it seeing as I just dropped a nice chunk of change on it. To give you guys an idea, this is almost exactly the look I want...

He's got the same front and rear bumper, side skirts, quarters and fenders that I want to buy. I even have the same hardtop ordered. Just waiting for it. Funny really because he just built this up and it's the kit that I had put together in my mind when I first decided to get an S2000. If I do get the rear bumper, I'll end up doing some custom work to it since I don't particularly like the not-so-OEM look of it. I'll probably have mine sit a bit lower than his too.

I feel ya. I'm from Indiana...so I do understand the wintertime.

My personal experience with Plastidip is indifferent. I've seen my buddy use it all over his Mini Cooper. To be honest, it's held up 10x longer on the handle of my ratchet (that I did for shit's and giggles) than it did on his trim and exterior painted surfaces.

Plasti Dip was never meant to be an automotive paint. It's something people over the last year or two have accepted as a cheap way to "vinyl wrap" the car. Whatever floats your boat man. Just not worth all that effort to me.

Why not run the ruined bumper for the winter and keep the good one till Springtime?

              Continue on as planned sir

so you bought it minus the suspension/wheels etc?

What kit is on that car (couldn't find voltex kit)?

yeah when I bought the car it was stock. The megan coils Chris had on it are still sitting in the trunk right now. It's taken a lot longer to get them on than I had anticipated. I didn't want to drop the car yet because the front tires would rub so I ordered spacers and tires. Then I found out the camber kit on the front left was kaput and the front right was on it's way out so I bought a set of those. Installed those today (first DIY I've ever done) and had my winter tires put on a few days ago. Spacers should be here by the end of the week, along with the coil install. Also ordered some new wheels that should be here by the end of the week, but I wont be able to put them on until spring

As for kjay's car, he has several different kits on there. Front bumper is an ASM replica bumper made by rockstar garage. Custom molded J's racing fender extensions. Front fenders are J's Racing fenders. Rear quarters have ASM overfenders I think and the rear bumper is a genuine ASM widebody rear. Voltex diffuser which I dont really like. Mugen Hardtop. Not sure what kind of mirrors. It's for sale too by the way. I think for 19k? Well worth it. If it had been available prior to my buying my car, I'd probably have this his.

Thanks for all the info - I do like the mix and match of kits to make the car look as he wanted. Don't really have 19k to throw at it though, so I'd have to start (if ever) with a stock one and go from there.

still sitting obnoxiously high. I think I need 20mm spacers instead of 25mm

but my hardtop just came in today. Excited to get it on.

Still stuck where I'm at but I tried to take some decent shots of it tonight. Anyone want to trade me 15-20mm spacers for 25mm spacers please?!
