It's time to bump this thread from the dead! I've had a shattered computer screen for way too long now and I finally got it fixed so I can do some proper uploading of all my photos. This post will be pretty photo heavy so you've been warned!
Let's start where I last left off, I had just gotten the engine in. M20B25 with all new seals, gaskets, and everything. My first engine rebuild.
First time rolling it out of the shop under it's own power.
Drove it up to the gas station in East Atlanta hoodrat style. So many black people were staring.
First night back at home with my buddy Mike's FB RX-7. Time to pack up for Formula Drift weekend.
I basically drove around with a big gaping hole sucking air directly into cylinder #2 which caused a big vacuum leak and the car ran like shit. Pulled the intake manifold off and learned that I had accidentally stacked two gaskets on the intake on one cylinder. My mistake.
Made it up to Braeselton and back two days and of course ten minutes from my house, the alternator belt decides to jump ship for the first time.
Fixed that, drove to work for a week, then it was time to party at SoWo.
I didn't take many photos in Helen mostly because I spent all last year taking photos and I wanted to relax and have a good time with friends this year. I do have a few on my camera that I'll put on flickr sometime though.
Ryan's rolling shot from the bed of Ashton's truck.
The truck actually got stuck at our cabin and what else would we do but pull it out with my car?
That's it for the SoWo shenanigans on my end, the first thing I did when I got home was strip the wheels and air dam, and paint that shit white. Everyone loves white.
I only did one side of the wheels white before I took the swap on it's first road trip. Six hours to Destin, FL!
We almost made it there, before the alternator pulley fully seperated. The back half was still there, but the front half just fell off which made my car basically immovable. Had to tow it 20 miles to our cabin in Destin and park it while I waited for a replacement.
One week later, the replacement arrives and I'm headed home without a hitch.
Later I added a gold pinstripe down the side, kinda hard to see in photos.
Found another 1983 Georgia plate, and got stuck in my driveway.
Posted up at work.
Then this shit happened. My air dam fell off so I had to make a sudden turn into a parking lot and the damn steering wheel snapped. Full on destroyed. Never again will I buy a cheap steering wheel.
So then I got in touch with these classy dudes.
And made this happen.
300mm Raid steering wheel. It's tiny and I fucking love it. The leather is soft and it grips so well.
That's basically everything that's happened in the last couple months. Here a couple photos of how it currently sits. I cut a little more out of the front springs to make it sit more even, and finished getting white wheels painted and finished. It's not much, but it's mine. Who knows what's next, M50 swap, coilovers, bags, I don't even know! it's just time to save.
