  • Jasmin : The E28 Build

    Hey everybody,
I've been around the forum admiring everyones stunning work for a couple years now, however I have finally decided to start my own build thread.

It all started on July 14, 2012 I had found an add on Craigslist for an 83' E28 which apart from slight hail damage on the trunk was in pretty good condition aesthetically. However mechanically it had a couple problems, the biggest being a blown head gasket. I decided to go take look at it the next day, and with a pocket full of high school graduation money I headed off to have a look at it. To tell you the truth I was extremely excited and ready to purchase my first car with my own money. I arrived and meet a pretty cool guy who is President/Co-President (or something like that) of the Clemson University Autocross club, he was straight up with me and told me about all the problems. He loved the car and originally purchased it to make it his own stanced car build, however he had a couple more projects and needed money for them. So after a couple of minutes checking out the car I decided to make an offer of $1000.00 and he agreed! After signing over the title I was headed back home extremely happy with my 83' BMW E28 purchase, which I decided to name Jasmin. But that's a story to be told later on....

I have many plans for this car including coil overs, my dream wheels, an 885 head by Myster-e Performance, W.A.R Miller Chip, Miller MAF Conversion, and some slight mods to make it more Euro. So without further adieu.......Meet Jasmin!!

Here is the car when I first purchased it:

Nice man. Looking forward to seeing your progress. '83 was the best year for e28s. Okay maybe it's not, but I'm biased.

Looks good man, there's a reason why e28's are so popular on here.

Great start, love the color. 1000 is a good deal as well if the only big issue is a head gasket.

Just a quick update, today on my way home I saw another E28 rotting away on the side of an import garage. So I stopped by and asked the owner about it and..............I ended up purchasing the car on the spot I'll upload some pictures later on in the week.

                    Cheers
