I picked up a set of ACS type II split's from a buddy of mine that needed a restoration. Fortunately the center's were in good shape, but the lips had some heavy rash and the barrels needed work. I actually ended up with 6 wheels total and used the barrel's from the parts wheels as they weren't bent or cracked. I'll let the pics do the talking.
Wheel's all disassembled.

I cleaned up the rash on the lips with a file and emory cloth. I then stripped the clear off with aircraft stripper and wet sanded the lip's with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit. I then his the lip's with a powerball and some polish i picked up from a truck stop from my home town. Here is a pick of a half polished lip.

The barrel's were pretty beat up paint wise. I cleaned them up as much as possible and hit them with some paint. They turned out pretty nice.

The hardware was pretty filthy. Spent a hour cleaning them up.

A nice shot of the lip. I'm really impressed with that polish!

After a week and a half I was ready to reassemble them. My wife and I had a bunch of show's to watch so I decided to do the reassembly inside. Took about 3hrs to do all 4 wheel's.

And the finished product!

This was my first attempt and re finishing wheel's. It was a lot of work, but I really enjoyed it!
