Yeah I wanna paint it but at this point I don't know if this shell is really worth it. The car is rusting pretty bad from under and some panels. I think what I'll end up doing is finishing the drivetrain and suspension bits and swap everything over to a different shell that's in good condition

That's what I'd do, plenty of shells around.

Probably the best idea, imo. Keep having fun with this shell, then find a nice one and you'll be set.
