  • B5 Passat Variant

Well, I am pretty much going to copy my intro thread and make a build thread.

Here is a picture of my old VW 337 and the B5 Passat Variant that I picked up. I take no credit for how the wagon looks now, I bought it this way. But I am definitely going to be throwing my own touches in here and there to make it my own. Thinking about new wheels, not sure what yet. And possibly going to wrap it with my brother, matte white/grey? Not too sure on that yet either

    Here is a picture of my old GTI before I sold it;

    And the new B5 Passat;

Anyways, I will keep this thread updated for those who love the far and few between stanced B5 wagons.

Here is a picture from today, just got it detailed!

4 year thread bump. (and 1st post for myself)

I ended up with this car and randomly saw this thread while cruising the instawebs today.

Decided to register so I could update on its status...

Previous owner "Glasser" did a sh!t maintenance job to say the least. Blown axles, head gaskets leaking, taped PCV hoses, clanking control arms, missing/torn interior pieces, the list goes on.

Here's where the story takes a turn. I have owned the car for a little over 2 years. In that time I have found a lot of things that werent manifested to me. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.

          **Interior**
-torn seats replaced in front with sport buckets + Audi C5 black leather bench in rear to match.
          -OEM pet partition
-full NRG short hub/quick release with matching authentic Hella steering wheel from Alfa Romeo.
-All interior air bags deleted during steering wheel and new seat install.
          -CCM cleaned.
-Full dash removal for new heater core and AC evaporator
-wired in boost gauge on steering column (for later project)
-Authentic wink mirror wrapped in black leather to match seats

          **driveline**
-Suspension temp upgraded to H&R till time comes for air.
          -Axles replaced
          -motor mounts replaced
          -tranny mounts replaced
          -New clutch + redline fluid
-Audi a6 front strut brace added
-Sold the Lorinser wheel pictured and since then have acquired more wheels...
          -Miro SPT 1's
          -mkv GIT Classix's
          -BBS VZ's
          -Stock steelies

          **exterior**
          -stubby antenna
          -shaved boot lid
          -rear wiper deleted
          -new oem tail lights
          -new S2K HID bulbs
-Custom black leather bra for hood that matches interior
          -OEM bike rack
          -OEM ski rack
          -OEM cargo basket

          **under the hood**
-Stage 1 tune with cat delete and bumped rev limiter
          -SAI delete
          -evap delete
          -Catch can added
-All new custom PCV hose and fittings.
          -cam chain tensioners and gaskets
          -head gaskets
          -head seals
          -oil cooler seal
          -oil cooler
          -all pcv valves brand new
          -new spark plugs
          -new spark plug wires
          -new coil pack
          -new fuel vapor valve
          -new ignition switch
          -inline fuel pressure gauge
-check valve installed at fuel pump
          -new fuel filter
          -new fuel relay
          -New head cover
-oem intake system removed/custom cone intake installed.
          -wire tuck started.

          **Future for the car**
-PES G2 super charger with custom additions/injectors: already purchased.
-New water pump/timing belt system: already purchased and going in with supercharger
-Audi Allroad fender flares for wide body: already purchased
          -More steering wheels: Already purchased.

I'm sure I am forgetting some things but that's where we are at now. Thank you mister Glasser for the engine bay covered in axle grease. Perhaps if you had the Lorinser center cap removal tool you would have been able to service the axles and belt showing tires. Cheers!
