This thing is super cool. But, I have to ask, why the Simpson racing belts? They just seem so out of place on the car, a racecar product on a low air-cooled classic.
Keep up the great work.

Are you missing your lower cylinder tins or are they just not installed? I learn the lesson about missing tins the hard way on my 72. Red light of death only came on after the fuel was boiling inside the carb lines (could see it through the chrome and glass filter I was running). Aircooled engines need complete tins and a spare belt in the glove box. Also are you replacing the tin/bay gasket while everything is out?

That's why the engine is 99% ready, some things are just painted (like more tins etc) and are still wet
I know the cooling is very important with aircooled engines.

Thanks man!
Just found another picture that somebody took on a car meeting, loooove the picture!
Can't wait till summer is back in town!
PS:
I'm coming to America from 9 february till 2 march(without my car )
I'm travelling with my best friend from NY all the way to Miami.
Are there some local car meets?
Or some aircooled garages?
Awesome car, my vote is definitely for white centers on the wheels.
By 'shoe horn' he means to try to fit into it, I guess he's a big guy. A shoe horn is one of those curved bits of plastic/metal that you use to help put your shoes on.
