Awesome car, my vote is definitely for white centers on the wheels.
By 'shoe horn' he means to try to fit into it, I guess he's a big guy. A shoe horn is one of those curved bits of plastic/metal that you use to help put your shoes on.

Are you missing your lower cylinder tins or are they just not installed? I learn the lesson about missing tins the hard way on my 72. Red light of death only came on after the fuel was boiling inside the carb lines (could see it through the chrome and glass filter I was running).
