  • Anson's E30 Hoopty

Hey guys, Im Anson Freeman. I've always been lurking on this forum then finally made an account and continued lurking lol. Decided to finally introduce myself now.

I stumbled across this e30 on kijiji for $2000. I talked the guy down to $1500 and he agreed so I showed up with cash in hand ready to buy. The car had been sitting for about 6 months in a parking lot through winter and such.

First pics from where it sat.

Now the interesting thing about this is that as soon as I got there the car would not start. Everything we tried failed, so we agreed on $500 if I could get it off his hands the same day. Called up a tow truck and towed it home for $60!

After about a month of trouble shooting - can anyone guess what the problem was? 16 effing fuses were blown. Replaced all and it fired up!

    Quick vid:

Then my first mod to the car on its way:

I hit up the junkyard and scored me some new mirrors and bumper/valence:

(Car is originally from Alberta - cool souvenir plate I get to keep)

Little engine shot lol, dirty as fuuu.

I got my euro plate, put it on...

    ... then this happened.

Drove around for a while, did a hardwood floor, subs and my big purchase :P

    Installing..

Drove around until the coil over popped my tire from rubbing. All within the first 10km test drive. Ffs.

Put spacers and a new tire and were gravy.

Drove like this until I broke my oil pan :

Fixed the pan and here we go:

    Loved it.

    Mk3 lip..

And then boom, ran out of time and things just happened at the worst times. Car overheated, starter gave out, and the center support bearing for the driveshaft broke.

Parked it for a bit and decided I wanted to clean the bay a bit and turbo the m20!

Did a compression test and it came up to 170-180 all across so it seemed like a good idea.

Its been sitting like that for so long. I finally have the money to continue on.

Also check this dope euro wiper mod

Its hard to get the right lighting to show off the paint but heres the best I can do quickly...

    Under the fender:

The part thats been painted: (Its not that shiny irl lol)

    Close Up:

And the sexy coilovers sticking through

And hood got scratched up so I painted it as well.

Check the custom BMW logo ahn this is just a few signatures, this hood will be packed! Only downside is its hard for people to come sign it since car is off the road they need to make the effort to come to my house. Sorry everyone :P

Well thats my lengthy intro, hope to have possitive responses as well as pointers on what Im doing wrong and such. Also advice on the turbo build

    Nice to meet you all!

It started as pulling the engine to clean the bay, then ended up as this car has too much rust, its gonna get body work done over winter so I might as well boost it now. Quick paint job before the engine goes in to keep it interesting. I felt like it. :P oh and I am a teenager, haha.

Tell me about it man. I keep telling my dad but nope, wont slam it. One day.

I'll have pics another day when the weather is nice on the finished bay. I like the results.

In the future, this car will be painted some sort of dark color, maybe charcoal. Have white diamonds as temp wheels, boost, 2 buckets, roll bar in the back, and more.

They're megan racing euro streets, the rear spring is in with no adjuster and the front coil has about half and inch to go (although with my new skid plate thats impossible as it rests on the car before the car even comes off the jack...) and thats with no engine >.<

So its been a while since I updated this... dont even know where to start. I ended up hooking my engine up and had wiring problems. Fixed those finally a few months ago and drove the car. Ran like crap. Then I ended up making a custom exhaust front to back myself. 2" twin piping front to back. As seen in the pics. Today was my first car show with the bimmer so I had to quickly paint it before the show. Unfortunately my spray gun broke halfway through! So I had to finish the job on spray cans. So the paint is kind of shiesty but overall the car was a crowd pleaser.

Also picked up a set of Klutch Sl1, they are 15x8.5 +17 all around. (For Sale)

Also I realized that I never posted an updated pic of my hood so here it is, signed by all my close friends and family.

Currently the car is parked again. Trying to sell the wheels and buy a set of RS to rebuild. Also gonna be doing some engine bay work. Stay tuned.
