                  • Looking great. Couple tips to make your life easier with the ragtop...

The set screw for the center latch simply doesn't hold, no matter how hard you crank it down. A friend ended up using a pair of of vice grips on his. I drilled and tapped the bolt (it's hardened... not easy) for a longer screw to actually hold the handle/knob on.

The outer knobs are prone to stripping the threads in the header bow... these work better as studs. Cut a couple 1/4-20 studs, and tack weld or JB weld it in the threaded boss. The exact same style knob is available from most hardware stores that's internally threaded and also gets rid of those stupid tabs which do nothing. Add a metal and nylon washer to the stack before reinstalling to reduce the friction and twisting against the headliner (if you ordered it with one). Included links to a couple pictures below. I was able to get these knobs much tighter after this mod.

Stick a piece of D profile weatherstrip along the front edge of the header bow.

The center latch hole can be widened in one direction. It makes latching the top easier... less fuss trying to get things lined up exactly. Mine seemed to be exceptionally tight when I received it.

Hopefully you ordered direct from the manufacturer. At the time I bought one, Streetbeatcustoms was the only source, and customer service was completely non-existent. The problems I had were nothing compared to some that I've seen. Your install is looking good though, so you shoudn't have many issues. The worst thing you can do is notch and bend the frame as the instructions show... that was the worst mess of problems I've ever seen with one of these tops.

FYI, the top never leaked water, but a strong sideways wind did make it snow inside the car. Brush the roof off well in the winter.

I will be working on it again this weekend while the epoxy flooring dries in the garage. Pics to come.

Thanks bud. The car is going even lower once I trim the frame rails and adjust the exhaust.
