Well, I finally took the plunge about 6 months ago and decided to take my Civic and finally do something with it.
Some of you may have seen my other build thread for the Golf that I owned. That lasted till about December when I ended up being pretty far in debt, and way over my head with repairing the massive ammounts of rust and rot. I ended up selling the coilovers that were in it, and proceeded to send that bitch to the scrap yard. Definately was not heart broken to watch that go on a flat bed.
Anyways onto the civic.
This car has been in my family since 2001, purchased right off the lot with 21 miles on the odo. My mother drove the car until 2009, when she gave me the car for my 16th birthday. This car has been through its fair share of stages. Most of the stages being overly loud subs, and plenty of rice. My mom gave me the car with 151k on it, and it now has 212k. Ive tried selling it probably a dozen times and when it came down to it I couldnt bring myself to let it go every time. Something about this car just makes me love it. While its slow, automatic, and well a civic, it has rarely given me any issues, and cant complain with the gas mileage(I drive a lot).
Quick instagram photo to shed some light onto the past of this car, and the present.

So anyways onto the current times. Early this year I recieved a $1500 bonus check from work and decided to finally pull the trigger after months of sitting in the garage working on friends cars, and talking about lowering and working on my car. I spent a solid month just doing research online trying to find the coilovers that would suit my needs as well as being a good product.
I finally decided after a while to go with Function and Form Type IIs. I had read nothing but good things across the 7th gen forums about them. The ability to go low, and retain ride comfort stood out to me.
After a few weeks of very impatiently waiting the UPS guy finally shows up with a box covering in F&F logos. To say I was like a little kid on christmas was an understatement. I don't think I have ever ran to the door as quick as I did that day.

Fast forward a few weeks and I settled on some cheap Sport Edition CEs with General Exclaim UHP tires...Ill talk about those in a little bit...

Along the way picked up a handful of other little things. Got myself a set of rear camber arms, and a rear window visor along with a grille and a type r replica lip.
So late march came around, I was out of work at 3 that day, and all my friends had the day off so we decided it was time to finally lower the Civic. After months of talking about it, it was finally happening, and I was happy as hell.
Heres how the car started out that day:

So after about 7 Hours in the garage of fighting with the car(Seized bolts, rear coils being a giant pain in the ass to install, and excessive amounts of time spent staring at the car smoking or eating and going "Shit, we should probably get this finished at some point") it was finally finished. And I was excited...really excited. Its not the lowest car out, or the best looking, or even the best put together, but damnit I was happy.
So we took it for a test drive up to the local car wash, washed it up and snapped some pictures. At this time I still had my ricer tail lights in since my OEM were tinted, and I had already recieved a handful of tickets for it.

And the three clowns who helped make this all possible:

A couple days later:
(To date this is still one of my favorite pictures of my car)

After that night the car sat for a few days and I got around to putting the grille in...which Might I add is a giant pain(Thank you Honda). You have to remove the entire front bumper just to get the damn thing out. Also took the time to paint over the chrome trim on the hood as well as on the trunk.

About a week later my lip finally arrived(the second time, the first was DESTROYED in shipping)

Picked up some Purple Blackworks racing lugs after I snapped 2 lug studs. Dont really have any pictures that show that off too well, its a nice accent to the wheel color.
After about a week I couldnt stand the thumbs up from all the ricers anymore and the people asking me if I had cut springs, thanks to my ricer tails, So I took a headlight restoration kit and a couple hours and sanded down my OEM tails and put those in. Looked 10x Better after those were on.

After early may the car pretty much stayed the same, just kept up on general maitnence and drove it. I got promoted at work so my time was little to none to work on the car.
As of right now the car sits on steelies with OEM hubcaps, and is waiting to undergo plenty of work this winter. Aiming to get much much lower, and having the whole car sitting flush.
I finally got the motivation today to actually do something with it, ended up lowering the front another 3/4 of an inch just to level it out with the rear.
Come this winter the car will be recieving shortened inner tie rods, inverted and flipped tie rod ends, frame notches, and much much much more low.
