  • Need insperation

So i have a full 2000 540i m-sport drivetrain to play with including every wire between the headlights and taillights. i know i want to swap the m62 and 6 speed into another bmw (older). I know it will fit in an e21/e28/e30/e34 but cant make up my mind... the biggest problem is i cant get the thought of a 2002 with a v8 out of my head.
    ANY OTHER IDEAS???

I have noticed that there a good amount of e30 m62s around, and to be completely honest I think that e30s are a bit overdone. I think that a e21 or e28 would be more unique.

This is funny because I thought the whole point of the S/W forum was about like minded gear heads who enjoy cars. Not about bashing on people and their ideas and builds. Every build starts somewhere...

If you really want to do a V8 swap, start with a 1998 or older engine. The Vanos on your 2000 engine will be way more of a headache when you go to wire it, plus they make less power and are weaker with the hollow lifters and single row timing chains.

Makes sense. The only reason I am even thinking m62 late model is because I already have the full car. I recently bought it of my brother for very cheap and it needs a full interior( water damage in cabin). And with a salvage title, the car is most likely never going to touch the road again.
