  • hcetretsam's e21 build

Ive had this e21 for 3 years or so. Sold it once to focus on my datsun. Missed her too much so when I heard it was up for sale I bought it back. Always wanted to something with the drivetrain and I found an s50 for sale cheap. Never really had a build thread before and all I have is a camera phone so pictures arent too good. Anyway..

pictures of the datto first. Nowhere near finished. Has a built 302 ford and completely worked suspension/brakes. Havent spent much time on the exterior obviously..

    The victim. Trying to hide.

    My shop.

    The swap.

e21 is currently on ground controls almost at max height!

    Begin.

Stock rad compared to aftermarket. Haha..

Changing rod bearings just for insurance.

This drivetrain is massive compared to the m10.

Making motor mounts out of the e21 m10 mounts.

in progress. E21 engine bays are tiny compared to e30

    Almost.

Currently adding headers/exhaust. Need to make driveshaft tidy up and a few other things. Order wheels and go hard parking with the cool kids.

Correction e21's are tiny compared to e30's haha. I want to put a carb'd m10 in mine someday just for cool factor haha, I know c-hutch is going to one. Looks clean, already have some goodies like euro bumpers and single headlights, very nice.

I got lucky. It was one owner never modified when I found it. Did the suspension/euro bumpers/headlights and modded the m10 a bit.

well im subscribed, i love these, your old engine bay reminds me of my 02, but this thing is about to be nasty with the s50, are you planning or running any type of filter on the intake, or just leave the trumpets open?

sick! would definitely have done an m50 or s50 if I had had more time and money, but that's the same for most things haha. Good work!

Going to build a 2 piece plenum and also buying filter "booties" that slip on the trumpet. Pulling the head next weekend to have it skimmed and getting a thinner headgasket from VAC. Hand notched stock pistons and wilder cams. Ebay headers on the way.
