  • The 82' Safari Journey

Hey guys this is my 1982 Safaribeige e28 528e....slow as bawls lol

I bought this from a man here in Atlanta who had owned it for two years and the owner before him had it since 84'. I also have every document and receipt for maintenance or anything purchased for the car. This car was definitely loved and I will continue the documentation for as long as I own it; I plan to never get rid of this car for as long as I live. The car has been In GA all of it's life and everything works as it should or shouldn't, it's not normal for everything to work on an e28 anymore is it? The car was purchased with 196,xxx miles and now has 199,xxx miles on it and I have been enjoying it everyday. I hope to put Euro bumpers and headlights on it in time, but I'm enjoying as it is now.

I also picked up some 005 BBS RS's (I know everyone has them) a few days later.
16x7 et11 was the original size but now the have 2.5" lips making them 16x8 and I'm not quite sure on the offset maybe 0. I figured 25mm in an inch and I added an inch to the stock 1.5" lips it had so tell me if I'm wrong please. I also need to order two more lips for the rear set...not sure what size because the barrels are 5". So I'm considering 4" lips. Anyways here's the start on my wheels......

As I like to explain it, e28's were the last 5 series to truly be made of metal and not plastic and computers. They're... tanks, one might say. Mine was in extremely good working order for a car its age, and I hardly had to do anything to it to keep it maintained. It also never once broke down. They're really great cars. And I didn't know they came in safaribeige. I love that color for some reason.

by your specs that puts the offset right around -2. So yeah you've got it right. Wheels look great.

Thanks man I love this color too! It's extremely rare color and especially on an E28. I've been trying to see how many were produced in this color but I can't find hardly anything about it on the E28. As for the wheels I know everyone does RS's but I wanna do really well fitted 16's rather than 17's. Thanks for the compliments!

Well stated. Nearly everything works on my e23 with 240k on the clock except for two windows, locks, the heat and the headrests. The built quality on that gen of beemers is just so downight daffy.

Yes there are a lot of them, as well as e30's, 240's, and the tuning group period. Only thing is, is that a lot of the e28's are trashed. I was looking for a clean old bimmer like my first car which was an e30 and then I saw this. I wasn't even posted fpr 24hr's but it was a gem so I bought it! I love car so much!

Today I changed the water pump, timing belt, and adjusted the valves. Oh idk if I stated above but the AC work great
