he isn't in Cali, although i'm sure he'd rather be
Nope, living in ATL... Although I used to frequently be in cali... family lives in Malibu Cali. haven't been in a few years though. Might have plans to head to the west cost... not sure yet. We shall see what the future holds.
Im glad that youre choosing an LS1 swap into a merc and not turning it into a race car. Thank goodness
I don't know if that's a sarcastic remark or not but just to be clear, this certainly will not be a race car. I've used LS1 swaps in other cars. Its decent power stock, very reliable and still gets great gas mileage. Overall it will just really make things easy for me. I will keep this inline six motor in storage though. Nothing on the car will be destroyed. This car will be able to return into its stock life form if needed. I have a level of respect for the car... its not some shitty honda/nissan build. ( NO OFFENSE) I've been there and done that so I totally understand and respect any build. I enjoy it all and love the hobby/people who are involved.

appreciate all the love and support fellas
idk how it sounded sarcastic. That car would look terrible as a race car IMO. it needs to stay clean cut. a cruiser. but with power and class. And im not offended I love my W202 and all cars for that matter.
Any advice on what to look for or have a good source for info?
Rust is the big key. A lot of them may look nice and clean but the rust is hidden. You really need to do your research on the car before you buy. Everything else is the basics of buying a car. Just use your brain and don't get "buy" crazy and find the right one.
Hard to say what to look for... it just depends on what you're digging and not so much.
This sounds awesome good luck , look forward to watching this one
Thanks, I've been busy with work but I think I finally have all the sources I need to get my air bag's ready to go very soon. That will be first before motor swap. I think once I get the ball rolling, this will be quick. Just starting it all is the brick breaker.

I was just confused because I said;
Basically... the car will remain looking the same. keep the factory fresh look but everything that is hidden will be changed out. I want it to appear completely stock inside and out. No loud LS1 ( welll expect when I open the electric exhaust cut outs of course )
so I wasn't sure if you missed that or still thought I was a goof nut lol.
ps - I might change motor setup. 6.0L or a monster diesel.
