  • The death of me

Ive been a lurker on this site for quite a while and i drive a lowered neon( i know). This is my first build thread and its gonna get me hanged for sure. I bought a stripped 90 crx si shell about a month ago and started selling parts off of it. When i got it I have a neon parts car with no title but is mostly complete that runs and drives perfect. My plan is to swap the entire neon drivetrain into the crx and slam it. Yes its stupid to most of you but i think its going to be a great project. More soon!

In my list of "Things I would never have a desire, let alone even think about doing", swapping the drivetrain and engine from an automatic neon into arguably the most hagard crx shell I've ever seen, is right at the top.

          Wait ...

          ... what?

Do you realize what an entire driveline / suspension swap requires, especially between two cars of entirely different make, width, and design?

This WILL be the death of you, save yourself now and burn both cars to the ground.

Spend your money and passion on your daily Neon, that's the best start you have. I'll admit, I kinda like your daily, must be the Shelby pepper-shaker wheels and the fact its' actually somewhat low already. But Dear God, don't, I repeat DON'T, do what you're about to do.

              Save time. Save effort.
Sell whole Neon, sell CRX. Buy finished but a little rough crx.

Lol okay so thats not really the project. Breathe easy guys i wouldn't do that. The real project is behind the crx. 89 plymouth voyager turbo1 5 speed pushing close to twenty pounds of boost

I'm all for new things. I just feel that it will be big waste of time and money for you. but if its what you want, go for it. why not just buy a honda motor/honda parts for the crx? they are so cheap

Please tell me you're serious. The turbo Voyager scene has been around, but I can almost guarantee there's never been a stanced one.

The voyager seems promising. And you said it was a 5 speed??

Thanks guys for all the kind words. lol Yes the van has been 5 speed swapped, crudely. I need a longer shifter as its on the floor. Will get pics tomorrow. The front has been lowered with daytona struts and springs. I am lost on how to get the rear end down.
