This is a quick time line for my recently acquired civic. I've had it for about 2 months. I hope you guys enjoy!
Heres some background: I got it for scrap value as the previous owner had bought a newer civic as a daily driver. He planned on just tossing it to the scrapper but he figured he might as well throw it out on the curb with a for sale sign. some easy obvious haggle and I brought it home. It also possesses a bunch of parts I will soon need for my other eg civic project.
I got it for scrap value. Its dirty and rusty but it runs and drives good.

I started working on it.
the exhaust was hacked in every way possible. it was pointed upward and melted the bumper both on the exhaust cut out as well as the upper mounts. it will need some work to get the rear bumper fitting right.

so I installed a new axel back I had lying around. i'll be fixing the rest tomorrow. I also had to replace a brake line that broke while removing the rear suspension.

pulled the seats and cleaned as much as i could. then lowered the rear. fronts will hopefully be done tomorrow.

here you can see where the hot exhaust gasses were passing up around the rear bumper on the tail light area. the bumper monts are melted.

I installed some rustybuttrusty top hats in the front and cut the shock towers for the uca's. And we are rolling!
I also had the car fall off a jackstand while I was dropping it down and it caved in the passenger side rocker about 4". it diddnt cause much cosmetic damage but i dont have a pinch weld to lift it on that side now.

Tossed the beater del sol seats that I had taking up space in the garage. Look at that clean blue interiorz!

Then I tossed the eg ex/si lip I had on the shelf from an old car on the beater. Such a minor mod but it goes a long way. It definatly finishes the car off. I also tossed the del-nasty 14's on the car.

Some things I still need to sort out:
-The right side tie rod is slamming the frame, so a frame notch is in order.
-The 14s have fat tires, the car wont drive with them. Tires are rubbing on fender well pinch welds. I had to throw the 13's back on to drive it.
-Exhaust has a leak still at the cat flange, it pry needs a new doughnut.
-Cooling system issues. temp gauge inop. fan does not kick on. diagnosed fan wiring, fan works as designed. needs new fan switch. still need to diag why the temp gauge does not work. possible cluster failure.
not much to do to make it daily duty!
Tonight I got the car finished up. I started by pulling the springs off my dads old integra suspension and cut them 3/4 of a coil higher. I also hammered my fender well pinch weld and the pinch on the frame rail for the tie rods.

then I re-installed my suspension, removed the rear seatbelts and drove the car. I'll call it done, the car drives amazing and unless it breaks I'm done working on it.

from here on out I daily drove the hatch, got the cooling system fixed/replaced and also fixed the factory charged r12 a/c. and it blows ice cold!
I also had a complete new exhaust welded up for it, on the cheap.
unfortunatly these bbs mahles diddnt fit. i tired. but they do look really nice now.

i'll update this because i was forced to work on it. i had been wondering why i couldnt keep the interior clean, and how i kept getting shit in my eyes while driving the car. after a hard rain i figured it out. the spare tire well filled up with water, and all the dust in the interior was from the rear tires. this bitch is ROTTED.
so naturally, i'm not going to fix it right. i hopped in the jetta and went to lowes with a crispy new $20 bill.
nabbed up a few cans of "great stuff" and i figured since i was going to tear the rear interior out i might as well do a proper rear seat delete. i picked out some strong thick particle board and some matching blue carpet for the interior.
i caked the wells with the spray foam to fix the dust/water intrusion. then i cut, mounted and wrapped the wood in the rear. its more than strong enough to hold engines/trans/wheels/tools etc. etc.

after all this, the car drives much MUCH quieter and its an all around better ride. no more water or road dust flying around.
here are some current daily duty pics. I also picked up a nice new steering wheel!

Today, it got new wheels!

not including wheels/tires i've got under $600 into it. its got ice cold a/c, and gets 35 city/40 mpg highway.
not bad huh?
