Resurfaced flywheel, new clutch and pressure plate


Took the intake apart to clean it up and replace seals and gaskets





Coming together now.



I'm finding that I should have bagged and labeled more nuts and bolts. Missing all sorts of things.

Really feeling that last point these last couple days. I spent about 30 minutes looking for my radiator mounting bolt two nights ago. Apparently I thought it was a good idea to put the mounting bolt inside a really bendy hose.

Yeah no kidding. It took me like 5 days to realize the bolts I was missing were actually there the whole time. I had these two bolts for the timing cover that were too long. So I kept looking for the right ones over and over. Probably spent a couple hours going over my piles of parts and bags of bolts (collectively, over those 5 days) only to realize that the ones that were too long were actually the right ones, except I had deleted the A/C bracket that they used to go through as well.

Whatever. Couple trips to tractor supply and I was good to go.

Also found another source of a vacuum leak and replaced that hose:



And the engine is basically ready to drop back in. Still have to hook up the wiring harness and modify a few wires for the battery relocate and stuff. Also making new grounds where the previous owner had been dicking around in the harness and put a few wire nuts on some things for no apparent reason.



So tomorrow afternoon I'll be focusing on the bay again. Just a little more bodywork and taping off and I'll be ready to spray some color!

i'm getting so wet by this rebuilding-stuff that i can't wait to dig into the m30 that sits in the e28 that i'll be getting in a few days. having no experience at all, i'll propably destroy it.
build is coming along very nicely and i frequently laughed my ass off. are you planning on building a light, small race-car sort of thing that you can throw around corners n shit?

Got a M10 in my E30. You're inspiring to clean up my Motor, too. But I have to get rid of some serious rust holes in the right rear fender. Keep up that work!
