  • my daily a3 8l

hey guys - just got my first set of 3 piece wheels which will hopefully give me a half-decent stance in conjunction with my new coilovers i just picked up
    these are the wheels

and this is my car (as of a few weeks ago - a few things have changed since then (ie. coilovers installed, back to stock wheels, cupra lip to name a few)

lips are coming up well (almost finished polishing them) as are the bolts (silver - polished) would love gold bolts but so far this entire car has been done, to an extent, on the cheap, and i don't want to go spending almost as much as i paid for the wheels on bolts. would drilling a shitload of holes in a board and lining up all the bolts and spraying them gold do the trick? or am i wasting my time and should just keep them silver?
anyway other big issue is the centres, what colour to go? currently thinking a deep burgundy, brown, bronze or charcoal.
thoughts and opinions would be great guys!

    cheers, elton

got my lips and centre cap nuts back from the polishers today - quick trial fitment without the barrel gave me this

sorry about the horrible photo upload etc...
anyway, poking about an inch from the guards if not more, looking as ways to make the offset higher, currently running approx 18x9 ET17 and 18x10 ET22...
    help.

Racing Hart Type C Tracers from the 90's. Awesome wheel. Too bad they don't have the original centercaps.

              got it in one
undecided what to do with the centre caps, despite the bmw PCD, they have nothing to do with bmw...
thinking either audi centre caps (going on an audi...)

unless if anyone else has any other opinions..?

also going to be spraying the wheels burgundy.

coils have had a bit of time to bed in and as such i've had to raise the car a tad as i was scrubbing on the front sway bar!
just picked up a camera too so will have some photos up tomorrow arvo if not tonight

ok time for some quick snaps - got some new bolt in valve stems today so chucked them on the lips, the old ones were rooted and not one place i've been to in melbourne has had any or even known what they were... so ebay it was.
a few shots of how the car sits now, had to raise it up a tad as i was scrubbing on the front sway bar... car looks to have a big, high booty but i swear its just unphotogenic

a before and after of the bolts...

and how the new wheels sit with the adapters...

                        front

                        back

                          uncovered these little gems today
not sure if to keep them as is, or attempt to refurb them with a silver paint pen...
