Thanks guys, I've always wanted to build a mini truck but never liked the idea of airride. I used to detest Rangers, it was the first stick shift car I learned to drive in, my parents had one that we used as a work horse when I was younger and we put just so much in money in motors that we ended up just giving it away. I ended up driving a 93 Ranger for about a year, after my brother totaled my beetle, and was going to buy it, but the guy didn't hold up his part of the bargain so long story short, I found this a week later and just jumped on it.

Here's a picture of my last slammed car, a 1970 standard beetle named Herman, I really miss this car . Cut and rewelded front beam, stock length, 125 temp tires up front, 4 outer splines to lower and 2 inner to raise (about 2 and a half outer in height but much stiffer) and 185 rear tires.



Well I got bored and decided to test fit the 8's on the front of the truck.

I really didn't need the wood till I had the new wheels on but I was bored and felt like having fun. As soon as I find the wheels for the back I plan on going with a much skinnier tire on the 8's also found out their -30 not 0 offset. He over heated coming home from school, I need new radiator hoses cause their expanding before the thermostat is opening up. I should explain now I am a certified suzuki motorcycle tech, silver pending work experience, I've been through triumph dealer training, and currently going through ducati level one training, I just have a sick obsession for lowered cars .

Defiantly excited about this build.. Have you thought about ditching the rear leaf springs all together and just do coilovers?h

Yea, I'm going to use a bolt in 4 link and replace the bag system with a coilover, but money is the issue right now.

Apart from the front wheels looking hella busted, im liking where this is going.

I guess I should do some updateing on this, I've been working on making Jedd more reliable, I replaced the spark plug wires, distributor cap/rotor, thermostat housing, radiator hoses, and battery terminals. I still need to fix the exhaust leak, but he has more get up and go..... for a ranger .



I also replaced my cracked brake resiovour and lost the wing nut for the air cleaner cover, so I replaced it with a regular nut and beer cap.



Check the awesome battery tie down.



While I waited on parts from advance to come in I decided to paint behind the grill and headlight rings black.





I think it turned out ok, but gloss black on the headlight rings may look better then flat.





I was taking some friends to the beach when I looked back and all I could see was smoke rolling out from the rear wheels so I put the eagle alloys up front while I reworked the rear quarters, I ended up cutting the lip out and I'm going to take it to a body shop and have the inner lip welded back to the outer panel. Rode around like this for a few days enjoying it being lower in the front, but it just rode to high in the back to leave it. Hopefully I'll be lowering the back more this weekend.



But damn did it look good from the front.



In others news, I'll be ordering some new wheels by the end of month.

Small update, I finally got around to flipping the rear shackles....... took me all afternoon! I proabably should have made sure I hadn't left my drill at my friends or started till I knew I had all the tools I needed, oh well live and learn. I'm sitting on bump stops in the back so tomorrow I'm going to cut the bump stops and flip the tires back around to the 8's up front again till I get my new rims at the end of the month. I also put my slim bump stops in the front. On to the only 2 pics I took.



I'll be putting the rear bumper back on tomorrow as well, just not enought time in the day or energy in my body, lol. (damn school makeing me get up at 5:30)



And my ACTUAL project, a 91 gs500 I'm building for bar hopping really, it has a gsxr front end swap that isn't pictured.



I'm now going to wash the filth from a 20 year old farm truck off of me and have a cold beer.

I just got done making a new bushing for the swing arm today, I'm in the middle of making a new wiring harness with out all the safety interlock crap and hiding the handle bar switches. This is what it looks like at this moment, but with out the huge fender.
