project low and slow (miata content and low budget)

Hello all!!! Well im the typical lurker that rarely posts but drools over many of your cars. After seeing some of these miata builds on here is sparked an old flame. So the only thing i could do was to find a miata and make it mine. Unfortunately im a poor college student/weekend warrior. So this is gonna take time.

I was working on a 94 integra sedan, trying to make a respectable vip inspired honda unlike the ricers in my area.

That was as far as i got when i decided it was miata time. So on cl it went and within hours i had people lowballing me to death. So i searched for what i wanted and sure enough i found a highschool dude that got a hand me down miata from his mom and was looking to trade for a honda. A couple texts later i was the proud new owner of a 90 miata with 200+ on the clock. Luckily this kids mom took good care of it mechanically even though its not a beauty queen.

I used to have one a couple years ago that i still had the suspension to for some reason, and the kid wanted to keep his steelies cause the 17" bbs's i had on the teg were not his style? So today i threw on the my old suspension setup which is kyb's and some custom race springs a friend made several years ago. And this is the result.






please excuse the ebay racing seats. I got them from a friend for free fifty and they look better then the destroyed original seats.

oh and the huge wheels will be sold and a proper fitting set will be on before long and that will bring moar lowz.

future plans:
roll cage
hard top
remove soft top completely
1.8 rear end with lsd
bodywork and paint

not going too crazy. but we'll see ha ha

well here's a small update. got some decent wheels, now i just need to do a proper roll on the fenders as they just have the baseball bat treatment right now. this is a very slow build cause im poor but one day it'll be a little closer to the quality you guys bring to the table. on to the pics





and here is how low i am at the moment. i plan on getting a lip though cause i wanna be as close to the ground as possible

this weekend i plan to clean it up and take some proper pics with a real camera. then you all will see how much work is really needed. its alot ha ha
