  • katRs's new ride

    Hi everyone
    on sempteber 2nd finally i've managed to buy my dream's car : a vw golf mk3 cabriolet! it's a simply 1.6 74kw but i love her anyway
    here's the car

the project is quite simple : keep it more OEM possible and make her reach the ground on static
before the car was at home i already bought the wheels
    Corvette c4 wheels 8.5x16 et32

The first thing i've done was take off those gti flares and to lower her as much as possibile

the second thing is take off the gti blinkers and rear lights and put on some new orange blinkers(front and side)fog lights and gl rear lights(red and orange)

than it was time to make the adapters for the new rims so the first thing is to make some new holes in the hubs

    and make some 5x100>5x120.65 adapters

unfortunately winter comes and here in italy it's mandatory to have snow tyre from november 15th to april 15th so i get the winter wheels on

as a real wheel whore i bought a set of a3 pepperpots just to have them in my collection and to use it sometimes on my cabrio

meanwhile in the interior i get a vento passenger side glovebox

and a vento rear ashtray thing(sorry don't know the word for it)

        then the rims was polished

so they must be painted in the hub and the holes(sorry for the crappy iphone pic)

i bought some new center caps

and then i put new tyres on the rims it's falken ziex912 195/40r16

and here's a video of me mounting the tyres

this morning i've done some fitment test and it's not bad...i only have to made some wider adapters for the rear and pull a bit the fenders

bumper and hood it's on only for the moment 'cause i'll put the vento front on so while the pieces gets painted i can use the car anyway
next week i'll notch the frame above the right drive shaft so i can sit lower and i'll paint everything so the car will be ready that's all for now

as i like to say...a perfect fitment

a little try to see the clearance with the fenders (i've already rolled them) and it's perfect!! next week it'll be ready for the paint job

if u want all reds, look for (the expensive) all red hella color concepts!

                      good work tho

                            my actual stance

i need to build some new front coilovers and camber a bit more (now i'm -1° front and -2° rear) so i could lower some more
