exactly! if it was an SL it'd be a lot easier haha someday i'll be a skilled enough mechanic to do one up properly, and my intentions are to make a track/drift car outta one someday. i hope i can achieve that goal, but for now i decided to simplify and get a 240 because the aftermarket is huge, and they're so much easier to work on.

Aha! Your 240sx thread.
A bit disappointed at first about you changing your 3KGT back to stock, but then I realized it was actually a VR4 so I understand why the change lol.

oh and i saw some super dope looking cars at ECB yesterday. it was my first time at one of those, and i wasn't expecting such a big event at all. there was a ton of nicely fitted cars in the lot, and some really built up cars in the pits. saw a mark ii and an s15 (first time seeing my dream car in person, in loooove), and some other really sweet cars. i didn't get a ton of great pictures because there was just so much going on haha i was overwhelmed. definitely worth going to even if you're not driving.
local friend of mine with the rhd 240

got myself some spanner wrenches, so once i get tires it'll be nice and low. the fronts are 18x8 (with spacers in the pic, couldn't clear my brakes lol what's new), do you guys think i should run 215/40's or 205/40's? gonna have a local friend help me pull my rear fenders, i gotta order a skid plate and a new ebrake cable and i'm good.

car is clean bro! I just think 18's are too big for this car, stick with 17's all around and no widebody fenders leave the stock ones on and go wide for a challenge!
but ugh i know, the 18's are gonna be interesting haha but i'm gonna make em work because as of now it's them or nothing. i borrowed the money from my father to buy the car so i have to sell my E30 to pay him back... i'm kinda in debt right now till i get that painted and sold. nothing too exciting will happen this year besides these wheels, some slammage and hopefully some drift pics! this winter should be sweet though, i'm hopefully getting my type x aero over my winter break and some legit wheels in the spring.
but for real, anybody interested in an '88 E30? haha i'll post it in the f/s section when i clean up the body
and i may be pulling the motor soon from the 240......

yeah i wanna get the max skid plate hopefully, i decided i don't have much time to fab up a good one. buying one would save time and probably be much more durable than anything i could throw together hahaOriginally posted by 180roman View PostThanks man
I'd definitely recomend a skid plate for the sump, especially an alloy sump
I've been meaning to make a skid plate for my car for ages, i'm on my second sump and is is just luck that the motor is alive because the stock sump is metal and bends instead of cracking and dropping all the oil
A local company here in Aus made a Gready style baffled sump out of stainless steel, so I bought one of those to try out, should be able to cop with a lot more lowness abuse

i think for now i've decided to run the varrstoens out back and rock my racing hart c5's up front

008 by P.J. Prendergast, on Flickr
so i'll be 18x8 (some really high offset, i have spacers) and 18x9.5 +15 out back, 225/40's all around. the fitment should look sweet, someday i'll not be broke and get a real set of wheels for it haha i feel like the varrstoens won't work well up front without fender rolling, and i'm not looking for a ridiculous amount of camber all around, the only reason i'm running them out back is because the fenders are already rolled, so they should tuck nicely

thanks everyone! i just didn't wanna beat the crap outta them haha i guess i'll have to be careful.Originally posted by hinrichs View Postsuper clean, cant wait to see it after you start tearing into it
deff dont need the spanner wrenches, a rag and a good channel lock will work well till you get a real set, ive had to do this a few times on my ksports cuz i couldnt find my real wrenches
sad news already, my friggin exhaust manifold cracked the other day, just casually driving along... right at the weld. started tearing it down yesterday and i'm gonna get it off tomorrow. now i have time to play around with my fitment as well
nobody is following through on my wheels i have for sale so i'm gonna throw them on.
they poke a little. just a touch of camber will do

don't worry, this was just a test fit. i plan on slamming it quite well once i make a skid plate. i have a huge ass greddy oil pan that would get eaten alive, so i gotta get that protected before anything happens

stay tuned!
