  • UK FD3S RX7 - Needs more low!

Thought I'd share the current status on my RX7, picked it up around Jan/Feb this year, only just started to get moving on it. Its already on springs and shocks, but need some coilovers to get it lower....

Picked it up looking like this..

Decided to get some Rota GTR-D's, went for 18x9.5 ET25 and 18x10 ET12.

Put them on, Rears poked as expected, fronts were pretty much bang on, they do rub but its not much..

    Fronts:

    Rear:

Next up was arch roll no the rear..

But ones arches were rolled/flared, the wheels tucked slightly, so ordered some 20mm spacers and fitted them this morning, some before and afters..

Next up some coilovers to get lower, and a bit of camber to bring it in slightly.

    Cheers
    Steve

Hey Steve, this is pretty sick. Loving all the black.

There has always been a big space in my heart for these. FC's or FD's

    This has real promise. Sub'd.

Cheers mate, I've always loved the FD but never thought I'd own one!

The only thing I'm not happy with at the minute is obviously the height but also the width of the rear wheels, they just look far to thin! I should have gone for the 12's, I'm such a fool!

Haha well you have one to love now.

It could come down a tad more
Really? I'm liking the rears but i guess it wouldn't hurt to be abit wider.

I am still a newb, so can you with the right set up, have real lows on your fd that doesn't upset performance?

Ok, so with the spacers on I got to coilovers next, Picked up a set of HSD DT I believe, they're a new range and I'm the first to fit them to an RX7 int he UK

Ignore the dodgy arch, needs more work.

Black on black on an rx7, pure bliss.

Needs less tyre out back and then winding down more. Still awesome as it is!

Yeah I know what you're saying, at the time of buying tyres I was torn between stretch or steam roller, I kinda settled for something in the middle, I've got my eyes on some new rims now a little wider out back 12.5 ET12.

Things have progressed slightly with this now.

I sold my 9.5J's and put my 18x10 et12 upfront, and got myself some 18x12 et20 (et0 after spacer) for the rear. Used the 265 off the 10 and put that on the 12J and then got some new 225 for the 10's. Check out the pictures..

Love everything about this. So jealous of the black on black FD.

Ok so the car has come a long long way since I last updated this. The Rotas are gone, new wider front wings, smoothed bumper and boot lid and new wheels..

                          18X10.5 et5 & 18X12 et0 Wrok Rezax.. here are some pictures..

With the wings before the smoothing and paint..

During paint I liked the pick up look..

                          And then all finished...

Still more to do, need wider rear arches which are in the pipeline which'll bring the rear down some more then nice diffuser, duck tail spoiler and a new paint job.
