  • New at stance. 91 Acura Legend . Advice, guidance...

I Have a 1991 Acura Legend coupe 3.2l 6cyl auto. Pretty sure its all stock setup. I havent seen much information for FWD stances so I thought I'd ask.
Suggestions for suspension, rims, tires, sizing?

I dont have the measurements for my current wheel setup, but im thinking my rims are 17 inch something like 6 wide all around ( not sure, will verify later)
i already have uneven wear on my front tires. The rims sort of poke out already.

    Thanks to all who reply.

This car is FWD, but it has a north-south engine with a transverse gearbox.

Unless you're going to track the car, not sure why FWD will make a difference to suspension. If you just want to dump the car, either cut your springs, get some low springs, or get some coilovers, $$$$, profit.

If you want to get the ride/handling right, get coilovers with adjustable shocks and play with it.
I drive too fast to worry about cholesterol.

Uneven tire wear comes from toe. Get an alignment to solve the problem. Id lower the car first though. Get some coils cause you wont be satisfied with a cup kit lowering Cut springs ride like ass...

Cut springs, save $$$$, get sick of driving a pogo stick, buy coilovers.

^^ pretty much every one of our journeys at some point in our car lives.

I got an alignment and looked at my tires it said 16 inch rims only so im gonna say my current rims are 16s. Had to buy new front tires along with the alignment ...even after just buying those tires!

Im thinking im going to save up for some coilovers and just do it right the first time.
Now im wondering what sort of rims Id be able to throw on, would i need spacers or to bore out anything?

This will be a slow process but ill keep it updatedd

Just take off one ofront wheel and one rear. On the back of the wheel it should have there specs. Then, go to the offset calculator and go ham with different numbers and offset until you find your setup. Also look at this site this will help so much http://rimtuck.com/search/thumbnails...=Legend&sort=1

I also have a Legend coupe, mine is a 6spd. You should join AcuraLegend.org you will get more than enough answers for any questions you have.

Your bolt pattern is 5x114.3, and Legends have high offsets that's why it seems you wheels have some poke to it.

Your options for lowering are K Sport coilovers ($750-1000), Ground Control/Koni setup (around $600) or you can get H&R or Vogtland Springs. You can slam it on the GC's but i'd recommend getting custom spring rates because this car is heavy and you'll rub bad. K sports have adjustable dampening and you shouldn't have a problem with them. You can also run Acura TSX coils (1st gen) but you'll need the front forks for them to bolt in, the rears are a direct fit.

As far as wheels go, you can run 18x9.5 with about +35 to +40et and up but you'll need to run some camber and maybe roll your fenders. If you have any questions just hit me up

Haha and the tranny isn't transversely mounted, its the same as the engine like a rwd car, but the diff is reversed to make it fwd sadly
